I'm starting to research it, I never tried but coming up on 6 months very soon and at her appointment they asked if I started (I haven't) and they said she was ready to start. I have a very fussy little girl, as mentioned in my previous postings... so I'm not sure if anything will work, haha.. she just cries herself into absolute hysterics if she is left alone too long even (that would be 5 minutes.. no exageration. lol). Anything in particular work for you ladies?

Bella is a strong willed baby and just being constant really worked ! If she whined I left her for 5 min intervals. If she was screaming, then I would get her and we would calm down, regroup, try and feed (which sometimes she refuses) and I would put her down again. YOU GOT THIS !

Also the vaccum noise on YouTube is a new one that usually works for us if she’s calm. Doesn’t work when she’s screaming

I honestly just gave up and after asking my doc over and over they just tell me let her cry it out I said no no no well it worked she was up every hour or 2 hour all night it was hell. I did it in babysteps but she was older when I did it like 1.

I've never actually had to do sleep training. My daughter started sleeping through the night when she was 2 months old but when she was born I did have a routine. During the day I would keep it bright and noisy then closer towards the evening I would keep the lights dim and it would be quiet and she would get her bottle her bath groomed and then put to bed with a noise machine

Routine, consistency. Like pp said, if just whining, I’d leave them to it. Crying, I’d go in calm them down and try again. Sometimes it would take several tries of calming before they’d finally go to sleep, but eventually got the hang of it. My MIL jokes that my son is “programmed” because he has such a good routine. She’s amazed that he’ll actually ask to go to bed and then will go right to sleep.

It's not a requirement so I don't know why they'd make you feel like you need to or have to.

@swedishmomma they do! It's developmental and they all get there on their own time. Childhood goes by so quickly, savor every snuggle. They'll grow to be independent, but also knowing mom and dad are always there.

what age does that typically happen? Thank you for the info!!!

it really depends on the child. My first two were a couple months old. My third still has troubles, so lots of coffee for me and I know he'll get there
