It’s all about personal choice really. Both my daughters were 4 and asked to have them done. I prepared them that it would hurt and they still kept asking.
Personally I wouldn’t take a baby. I know some people say it’s best to take them young because they don’t remember the pain but I don’t like the idea of putting a little one through that when they don’t know what’s going to happen.
Tattoo studios that do piercings will not do under 5’s for a reason xx
Erin has them done at 3 and they closed up then I waited until she asked so she got them done on her 6th birthday and loves them. Had them done at Claire’s no issues xx
My daughter is 9 and is asking for them so she'll be getting them soon. I think when their babies we should respect their bodies and leave it to them to decide. A fashion accessory isn't something babies need x
The amount of ppl that are against it but bet half of them had there kids christened which is forcing a religion on them that they may not believe lol
Not really because being christened doesn't mean that is your religion. Your not stuck with that for life, if you choose you don't want to follow a religion then you ain't left with scars...
@carlybeanw, that really depends because some times if U don’t follow the religion of your family you are left with scars emotionally not physically 😒 but each to they’re own if u don’t want to pierce your child’s ears that’s fine all I asked was how old were the children when pierced not if I should pierce my child’s ears 🙈
@leanne2016 I haven't replied with anything saying about whether you should or shouldn't. Comparing to a religion though when it's a fashion accessory - two completely different things.
Nah don’t make u bad mum at all you do what u feel not what others tell you u are the mum this is all in ur control nobody else’s ppl get to involved in what others do which is a total waste of energy and has no effect on there life what others are doing .so I say u do what u want 😘😘😘😘
I had mine done at 18 months but I won’t get my girls done until they ask because tbh it’s their body and their choice not mine. If they ask then fair enough they can have them done but I won’t force it on them 🤷🏼♀️
@leanne2016, I think you do what you think best at the end of the day it your baby and you know best there always so many opinion on this !! But i will say I got my child done at young age and he was fine all my niece & nephew & friends kids had them done at a young age too never had any problems but each to there own. I getting Aaliyah done. When she bit older 💖💖
Sophia got hers done at Xmas she just turned 5. She has been asking for over a year so her dad took her. A piercer said to me not to get them done until they ask more than once to get them done. However it’s each to their own xx
True, I’ve never heard anyone complaining about having an ear piercing from a young age, 🙈 and they still wear earrings 🙈
@leanne2016, I’m not saying people regret having them done younger :)
For me it’s about consent and I’d rather my daughter ask when she knows about piercings and wants one ... rather than get it for the sake of it :)

You can have babies ears pierced from 6months. My 9yr old had hers at 9months. To me the younger the better as they can't play with them and cause infection. Which is exactly what my cousin did at 8yr old
@leanne2016, Places that pierce at 6 months use a gun, it’s not sanitary, the gun that is :) also the gun piercers the ear with the earring and it’s pretty much blunt and can cause trauma to the ear which will lead to infection regardless of not touching and cleaning it :)
My friends 5 month old has her sons done and he plays with it... just because they are young doesn’t mean they won’t play with it.. a lot of babies touch their ears out of comfort anyway :)
I suggest watching a video on gun piercings and the cons before making a decision :)
I had mine done at Claire’s and was lucky not to get mine infected :)
My sister on the other hand hers did.
And when I got other piercings done with a gun and 15 my friends copied and there’s got infected whereas mine didn’t and I had my whole ear done. Think it’s really a hit and miss :)
I’ve recently got a new piercing... with a needle... if I don’t clean it daily it will get infected :) even if I don’t touch it xx
@beebeejgill, but it don’t have to be done with a gun my sis got her daughters done by a needle at 5 months so I’m not thinking about getting it done with a gun that’s didn’t come to mind hun
@leanne2016, Alright that’s good then :) End of the day it’s up to you I guess, I’d just rather Maya consent to it that’s all :) that’s why I’ve not got it done :)
I was 11 before I got mine done :) after a few years I lost interest in lobe piercings and wanted more unique ones xx
I won’t get Maya’s done until she is at least 8 years old (when most professional piercers will do kids) Claire’s isn’t professional no matter how much they claim to be :) so year at least 8 and when she asks
Maya will be getting hers done with a needle not a gun :) xx

4 she asked and showed off my other half said let her I couldn’t sit n watch I said yes it will hurt lol she said I’m brave I don’t care 😂😂
I've told hubby that Bethany can have her ears pierced, when she's able to look after the piercings herself.
I had to wait until I was 11 to get my ears pierced, and the piercings got mildly infected even using the cleaning solutions they'd given me.
