Does anyone work 3rd shift? I’m just curious how you do it with kids?

The hospital in my area is hiring for 3rd shift technicians but my mom says it’s gonna be exhausting especially since it’s a full time job. So I’m just curious how it works for you?

It’s definitely exhausting. A friend of mine works night shift in the nicu from 7-7, and she stays home with her kids during the day. Tbh, I don’t even know when she has time to sleep. She’s always exhausted though

Omg wow that’s even more exhausting since there’s more than 1 kid 😱 superwoman right there lol. My mom says I won’t last and I should just find something less tiring which I agree with but I’ve always wanted to work in the hospital and they’re rarely ever hiring for pharmacy techs 😐

sometimes you just have to do it. And eventually, when they need a day shift, you could get that job easier.

yeah that’s what I wanted to do, gain superiority and then have it all the way I want it to be, I’m just gonna send my application in and see what happens! Lol

Yep I manage hubs is here while i work. I do 12hr shift so i have more time off only thing that sucks i work every other weekend. I've done it since my 8 yr old was like 2 or something. It was 11-7 wasn't bad when he was in school id sleep then but it's tough with the baby. Barely sleep. Only good is I am off more. I have to work this shift because it is better for my family.

I also make more money working 3rd
-_-··
Yeah like in the hospital it’d be like $20/hr and then I’d get paid more on the days I have off if They need me to come in, as an incentive you know? The money would be great but since my boyfriend works 11am to 8pm, my daughter would be all mine and she only takes a 45 minute nap and she’s up at 9 😓 so I’m sure I’d be burnt out in a week lol

Мама дочки (3 года), беременна (6 нед.)
I work 10pm-10am and I’ve been doing it for two years. I have one almost 4 year old daughter and some days it’s really exhausting but other days it’s really nice to be home during the day and not missing out on time with my baby girl. It’s nice to be able to grocery shop and clean and cook etc at a normal time.
-_-··
That sounds like a really good shift, more exhausting then a 11-7am but I know I’d be exhausted since I haven’t been working in a year and a half so idk how well I’d do. Does your SO help throughout the day??

my husband works noon-11pm. But he is home a couple of the days that I work so he will watch my daughter and help out while I sleep. But since we work pretty much opposite schedules, I do a lot myself. He doesn’t know how to cook and always spends way too much when he goes grocery shopping lol so I just choose to do it. He will do laundry and start a load of dishes, take the dog and trash out.

@mermaidmamabee, awww I’m really glad he’s supportive and he helps! Lol my bf works the 11am to 7pm so I’d be on my own to find some rest unless he woke up early everyday at 7am so I could sleep while he tends to our daughter lol I’m gonna apply and see what happens! Lol
