Amira has been able to flip over since about 1 week old. And flip from stomach back over to her back since about 2 months old. And it's been a real struggle to keep her on her back when she sleeps. My pediatrician showed me many "contraptions" and stuff to use but she's always gotten out of them or broke them. She is very relentless when it comes to sleeping on her side or stomach. I'll spend 3 hours flipping her over and over and over back to her back at night. I was letting her sleep on her stomach because every other doctor and the hospital and my own personal research says that if a baby can flip over and back to her back then it is safe for them to sleep on their tummies, but my pediatrician told me she will 100% die if I continue to let her sleep on her tummy and especially during the "winter months from November to April there's a 60% higher chance of SIDS for tummy sleepers". What's your thoughts mom's? What have you done to keep them on their backs and what's your perspective of letting them sleep on their tummies if they are able to flip back over easily

If I were you I would take away all blankets, and swaddles, etc("hazards" as another commenter said) Keep his room warm enough for a sleeper or onesie, then let him sleep how he wants. Trying to keep him on his back is probably more unsafe than letting him sleep on his tummy (or side) with nothing around.
ETA: get a new doc, this guy sounds like a piece of poo 😒 (for lack of better word lol 😂)
If the doctor said 100 percent chance I would be getting a new doctor. I get why hes telling you that but some babies refuse to sleep on their backs. Im not saying its a good thing or bad. I can only tell you my experience with my daughter. She always has slept on her side and stomach. Even now at 2 she refuses to sleep in her bed any other way. My doctor told me to prevent it as much as possible and to prevent sids as many other ways as possible. Like no blankets or loose clothing and told me to get a more breathable sheet like silk or thin feeling. Doctors should not be scaring you. They are suppose to help.
Yep ☝️ 🙌 👏 my son was like your little one. He was relentless in getting on his belly. To the point where swaddled and sleepers were a hazard. We approached every doctor and medical staff member for advice. Ultimately, the prevailing opinion was to remove all other risks for him. Since he was flipping himself over and consistently, then if we removed the other risk factors, his risk would stay lower. He is still a belly sleeper and is happier that way. There are pillows you can buy for belly sleepers but I honestly dont know the stats on any risks of using them. We didn't even know they existed until my second was born..
Every Baby is different, my first born and youngest both slept on their sides, my middle child only slept on her stomach and cried and didnt sleep well if she was on her back from the time she was born...it was scary knowing everything from her pediatrician and her not wanting to breast feed which increased her risk but another pediatrician said if she prefers her stomach let her sleep on her stomach and make sure absolutely nothing is in her crib. It was scary but she's 2 now and as healthy as can be.

Why isn't it safe? I know about the whole SIDS but I still don't understand why it's not safe for them. My baby is 4 weeks and tonight was my first night putting her on her tummy and she's sleeping much better on her tummy than she does on her back.
I love how I repeatedly told my father in law not to let my daughter root through the toy box because she doesn’t want anything out of it anyway and he keeps picking her up and taking her to the toy box no matter how many times I tell her no and tell him she doesn’t even want anything out of there anyway. Both of my daughter rolled over before time, I just made sure nothing was in their sleeping area and their Dr told me of they can roll into the position they can roll out. They sleep better on their tummy ❤️
