Any step mommas here? Hubby is older and has older kids. Seems like his 8yr old daughter hates me and my 10 almost 11yr…

Have a16yr old step daughter she always liked me but the problem was her mom. We been together sense she was 5.

I keep telling my husband we need to talk to them instead of punishing them. My step daughter barely talks to me on a normal basis. I've always taught my daughter to be open and honest with me. Trying to teach his kids the same too. Their mother is not involved at all. When she was she was strung out. My MIL babysits and she a whole nother ball of crazy too

Step kids are bad at rebellion. I have a step son who is the sweeties 17 year old I could ever meet. He calls me mom, but his mom gets mad at it. I have been in his life more then she ever has for him. My youngest son's half sister is kinda like a step daughter. She is a whole lot like her dad, witch he is in and out of trouble. She is a sweet girl but just seems to try and fit in, in the wrong crowd. She seems to always contact to stay in touch with her dad he been Incarcerated for 6 months heck pretty much most her life and all her brothers life. So they could grow to love you. Or they might be holding a grudge against their dad for their real mom's moments and you are suffering. NOT COOL
