I had my 38 week check up. I am 1-2 cm dialated and 60% effaced. Does this mean I'm close or not?😂 Any mamas wanna explain to a first time mama what this means??

It could mean anything tbh!
Some mamas go into labir at 1cm some dont go into labor until 4 or 5.
Effaced is how thin your cervix is, the more thinned the better you dialate. It really varies by mom unfortunately, theres no true answer to how long it might be once you start dialating. With this baby I was at a 2cm and 70% effaced since 37 weeks on new years eve and I never got passed 2.5 by the time I was induced on Wednesday at 41wks3days, and with my first I wasnt thinned or dialated in any way by induction at 8 days overdue, but yet theres some ladies who can have their water break at the same progression!
