I have seen it done many times..in Jewish cultures right in front of u.they give the baby a pacifier dipped in something sweet..A numbing cream is put on the penis and within seconds it's done by a professional sterilized and all in his hands in front of people the baby might cry for a sec..different versions in dif settings.all my 3 son's they are fine and never any issues

My husband and his brother had to get theirs done at 7 and 2 because of continuous infections. They are mexican and his mother didn't even know what circumcision was until the dr said they needed it lol. And trust me when I say it wasn't for lack of keeping her boys clean because she is super OCD and kept them very clean. It just happens sometimes.
Both my boys are intact. No issues. Ironically they’re the only boys on both sides of the family to be intact and the only ones who haven’t had issues with their penises.... it’s painful and unnecessary. I would never let anyone strap my daughters down and remove a part of their body just cause it *MIGHT* cause a UTI that could be treated with antibiotics. Why should I let someone do that to my son?
Honestly all the health benefits of circumcision have been debunked anyways. The rates of UTIs in men only differ by less than half a percent between intact and circumcised men.

@rmreed, I’ve only seen it a few times in my whole life that’s why. My cousin has two boys and I think they have it. My husband doesn’t so he wouldn’t argue it. I just don’t see the point I’m making them 🤷🏼♀️
He isn't circumcised?? Has he ever had any issues...did it bother him in high school? That's my only fear.

I'm a regret mom. I left it up to my husband...my baby cried a lot. It was traumatizing for me and I can't imagine his pain... if I have another boy I'm going to really fight dh to not do it again.
I regret it too...I let them hurt my baby 😢. My fiance was like no questions we are circumcising this baby and we watched the documentary now. His comment when it was over was "even the doctors that are the highest speakers for it didn't really share any positives worth noting"

Totally up to you, but there’s no way I was okay removing a piece of my child’s body. My child’s pedi and her PA both have sons who are not circumcised if that tells you anything. Additionally, my friend who is an MD had to observe and perform a certain number of circumcisions during his residency and all three of his sons (born later) are uncircumcised. Women experience genital infections at a far higher rate than men & we don’t remove parts of their genitalia, just sayin.

@ehenzon But recollection of pain from that many years isn't accurate. I can tell you labor and birth hurt but even 2 years out...I couldnt with 100% accurately describe it to anyone
It's really not so bad. My son acted as though nothing happened and he's fine

@householdceo, all babies are strapped down LOL unless done by a mohel. I have seen circumcisions done during my stay at the hospital where I was learning to be a nurse
Yeah if I had a boy he’d be circumcised. I worked in an ER for 5 years and then a nursing home. There comes a time when they can’t care for it on their own and reality is that the people taking care of them aren’t going to take care of it for them. I’ve seen hundreds of cases of nursing home neglect and about a quarter of them involved a man who is sick from lack of proper care for his genitals. Septic shock, unresponsive and knocking on death’s door. I won’t be around for my son’s whole life to make sure that he or whoever would take care of him cleans it properly.
But hopefully someday that changes, can we hold onto the hope? Well maybe but cutting off someone genitals because we have a severe lack of care for our elderly population seems a bit outrageous. I actually worked in an er for a while - I miss it...but anyways..as well as a nursing home as a tech and never really saw that. Not that it doesn't happen but hopefully its dwindling!

I have worked at a nursing home and have worked in a hospital setting. I have never seen infections and intact men. I am a nurse. I don’t know if it’s because I actually do my job or I expect my CNA’s to do their job but we never have issues. I’m not going to remove a highly functioning part of my sons penis just because God for bid at 80 years old nobody takes care of him. I have seen more issues from lack of dental hygiene, but yet none of us are pulling out our sons teeth. I just think it’s stupid logic To cut up your son because he might have shitty workers in the future LOL especially when he could easily get an awesome nurse like me. My husband is not circumcised and he would be pissed off as hell if his mother circumcised him because at 80 years old he might fall apart. I have also worked as a traveling nurse. And have gone to other countries were circumcision is not practiced and hygiene is not always enforced and those men still don’t have issue I have also worked as a traveling nurse. I was meeting with Peds and they all said the same, "medically unnecessary, completely up to the parents preference". Its understandable though, no parent wants to feel like they failed their child but too many times I have heard the woe is me story of boys (past boyfriends) who resent having that taken away or just refuse to acknowledge it. Im just gonna leave it up to my boy. I just hope he doesnt resent me for letting him grow up with a weird looking penis 😌😑

Watch the documentary!! My son is and I regret it so much. I cried watching the video thinking I put my kid through that. I never thought twice just kinda "had to be done" and "he was fine he only cried a bit" but I had allowed them to strap my innocent, defenseless infant down and CUT OFF PART OF HIS BODY! It's just crazy after watching it how much has changed in my mind. My fiance was like this next one we are absolutely circumcising because I am and we watched the documentary together now he's like "even the doctors for it truly dont have any good reason for it" it's just craziness!
Honestly, this is one of the reasons I'm thankful we're having a little girl. I was so anxious. I didn't care to have it done but my husband insisted if we have a boy he needs to be circumcised.
Right? Was not wanting mine to be but my boyfriend (his father) insisted and of course they took his side and did it. 😑
@householdceo, he can’t really make an educated opinion about a body part he doesn’t have though... as women we still have the analogous “foreskin”. It’s illegal for our foreskins to be removed. The mother should make the decision just as much as the dad. Just cause he has a penis doesn’t mean he should make all decisions for his sons penis. But that’s my opinion. I’ve got two intact boys and their dad is circumcised. He only has sensation on 20% of his penile skin. The rest is numb due to issues from his circumcision.
@momtothe3rdpower I didn't mean as he's the only one but everyone makes it sound like he has no say and i'm saying he should have one. I never said it's all up to dad. I meant he should be included not just the mother. Uneducated or not more then likely he sees the difference and has a opinion on it. Just like a stated a father should be involved with any decision big our small for any of his kids unless he's totally out there pic my hubs is included in the decision for our children all of them.
