so cps got an anonymous tip apparently and are conducting an investigation, I have smoked weed here and there and even though i can pass a pee test, I fear for the hair test. Has anyone had to take drug test for CPS before?

It’s weed though? I doubt they will take your kids for weed. That some petty ass shit. Especially if your able to pass a piss test.

Also let’s say they do a hair test and it’s positive, i could maybe suggest counseling or AA instead of them taking him right to make it seem like I am trying to change? Hoping it doesn’t get to that though :/

Okay this makes me feel better, way I see it is there’s way worse parents out there! My son does daycare 5 days a week and meets milestones of a 3 year old and just turned 2. He’s soo smart and anyone that meets him immediately sees it. I’m such a good mom this is just bs
I’ve dealt with cps over this and they never did a drug test or took my kids! They always said they was never in no harm and I admitted to it just fine. I wouldn’t worry at all and in Florida where it happened to me it’s not legal at all

You wont get your son taken away. It happened to my sister she gave birth and admitted to smoking her entire pregnancy. My niece was fine but they retested her in 30 days to be certain she quit and the case closed.

@skinnymom2145 New Jersey I think her was blood and pee cuz it was right b4 she gave birth in the hospital.
I haven't ever had to take a drug test and I had CPS called on me every time my son got a new teacher in daycare

According to a text who does these tests, hair tests aren't helpful for marijuana. And blood tests only show use for a week.

@skinnymom2145 Please please don't beat yourself up. Honestly, it's no worse than alcohol and I personally think drinking is worse. I've watched alcoholism kill a lot of my family. I would recommend getting your card for sure. It's not a bad thing. That's why it's becoming legal in so many places. When it was illegal here still marijuana wasn't what cps was worried about. Once they do a home check and test you even if you fail I'm highly doubting it would ever go as far as you losing your son. They would say they were going to continue testing you and check in every once in a while. Try and relax. Keep drinking and flushing your system. 💜

@madhatter, :) you make me feel better. I’m doing my best to get it completely clean and honestly won’t smoke again until I have my card. I can’t risk my love, we’ve never spent a night apart and I’m so scared that they could even temporarily place him with other family members if I’m dirty 😭😭

@skinnymom2145 That sounds like the best way to go about it. You're doing everything right. It also doesn't sound like you're a daily user. You should pass your test no problem. And like I said, he's not in any danger and he's got a loving mother. As long as the home check goes well and they see that, you'll be okay. I see no reason for them to do that. They have so many other children that are actually in danger to worry about.

See I don’t know how the laws in my state work :/ I’ve been told it’s just a pee test but I’ve read that they try hair too and that’s what I’m scared of. My son is so well taken care of I can’t believe a bowl could jeopardize everything

Yes I haven’t touched marijuana in at least a week and have ate completely clean and organic foods, nothing but water so I know it will be out of my system for a pee test

So I scheduled my appointment for Thursday when my insurance is active! I'm just wondering if I should pay out of pocket to get a blood test done at this point 😩. I hadn't been testing with fmu, so I just thought.. Let me test with my $1 test with fmu and see what happens (I've been testing with frer only - 1st Pic is the last one I took on Sat) and I got a faint line I think.. I've been getting negative with frer. 🤔 I feel like I'm going to drive myself crazy testing because I have to wait for my appointment or to bleed and I just don't know what's going on 😂😂😪
So now that I have my test strips when do I start testing! I am on day 2 of af today and it lasts about 3-4 days normally. I have about a 26-27 day cycle. Any help would be very appreciated thank you!!😀
