Any potty training tips? My baby will go at daycare when the urge to go comes but I have to tell him he has to go potty when at home and will not go number 2 in the potty almost always in his pull up? Please HELP!!
Alot of people are trying potty watches you set a timer on it and when ever it goes off its time to go sit on the potty
Normal but it sucks. For home we do reminders. At daycare they often build it into their days, so we do the same.
Go potty before a meal, go potty before we leave and when we come in.
As for poops. I learned that my son often goes before or right after his naps. So before his nap we got to play on the potty with his cars. (A cookie sheet with a road and trees on it). I tell him he can play as long as he sits on the potty and nap right after. This works well for him. His first poop in the potty was while he was playing with his cars.
He also likes books which we used for potty time. He likes them but the cars was what got him to poop. He doesnt get the cookie sheet or cars any other time but potty time. So he is motivated to stay put.
So for us the mixture of knowing when the would go with a motivator to stay was the ticket.
*some kids also like to squat to poop so making sure to have a lower potty can help versus using a potty seat on the toilet.
Girl, mine is a YEAR older than yours and we still have the EXACT issue. He just doesn't act like it bothers him ONE BIT to have poop all over the his booty!

Potty Training *Updated*
Why is there such a push to do it so early?

I need some potty training advice. My son is 18 months and is definitely ready for potty training. He lets me know when he has to go but the problem is when I put him on the potty, he absolutely freaks out. He’s afraid to actually go. He’ll sit on the potty happily any other time though. Is this just a phase that I have to wait out or is there something I can do to make him less afraid?
I would always give my son a reward everytime he went and since he’s having more trouble going number 2 I’d give him a extra reward when he does that. I also just let my son run around without a pull up on and explained to him he needs to go to the potty and never got mad at him if he had an accident. And I always asked him if he needed to go . I also started putting underwear on him and he didn’t like the feel of having an accident in them so that helped. He caught on very fast when I started doing all that and I also think the potty chair I had for him helped. It was one of those ones that look like real toilets and they fake flush. I would sit it in the bathroom with me when I went sometimes and told him to go with me and he would
