Do hicups count for kick count or no?

My doctor told me they did not count is hiccups because they are involuntary movements. When you’re doing kick counts it should be only voluntary movements she told me.

We’re told Any movement is a count including hiccups

My midwife told me hiccups doesn’t count as movements.

We tell our patients to count any movement as some moms (especially first timers) can’t differentiate between a kick or hiccup lol. Each doctor/hospital will have varying protocols for “kick counts”.
