Okay mamas I need your help! I have a sick toddler. This is my first kid. An my first experience with the flu. We tested positive for flu Monday. She’s been sick since Saturday. The doctor said it would last 5-7 days. We’re on day 6 and she’s not getting better. She’s still keeping a fever on and off. Is this normal ? The constant fevers are making me think she might have something else on top of the flu but I don’t know what it could be or if that’s the case. I’ll take her back to doctor Monday if she’s still sick. I just wanted some opinions or advice until then.

Oh my gosh. My poor baby. Thank you for letting me know. The doctor had me believing it should be gone by the weekend. He gave me an excuse for her to be out of day care so many days. But I don’t wanna get any other kids sick. So looks like she will take more time off.
@kayla.lawson, you’re welcome! I hope she starts to feel better soon. The flu sucks in general but is so much worse on children. And fevers are very popular in the morning and in the evening. Keep up with the good work of keeping her hydrated and switching between the two medicines!

My 2 year old tested positive yesterday. The flu is rough..the Tamiflu helps but just have to alternate between tylenol and motrin. Its unfortunately just a virus that u have to let run its course. Her temp got to 105 yesterday with neither medicine really helping

Have you been giving her plenty of fluids? Pedialyte will help keep her hydrated. Maybe a Luke warm bath to get her temp down. Have you been rotating ibuprofen and Tylenol too?
Yes. The doctor told me to give Pedialyte. An I’ve been rotating Tylenol and Motrin for days now. The fever will go away most of the day. Then every morning and every night It comes back. It won’t stay gone. I don’t know if that’s normal for the flu or not since she’s never had it before.

Morning sickness is gone....Metallic taste of my tounge is also less....and I feel pain in my abdoman twice or thrice which is very minor though

Sorry I been ignoring yall but I have been so miserable the past days I'M STILL PREGNANT my contractions would be strong for hours and it looked like I was gonna have a baby then everything just stopped so I got sent home. they said I have to wait till my appointment Wednesday so I can talk to my doctor about the next step. Stupid question but I want your guys opinions on it. How many more nights more would you give your one year old who has the flu Motrin at bedtime, even though they have no fever anymore and don't seen uncomfortable? No fever for almost two days now. My husband thinks just because she does not have a fever and is not showing signs that's she uncomfortable that she should still get meds before bed, like last night, and she was perfectly fine all day.
