Do you think my baby’s head is flat? I’m scared to death the back of her head will be flat due to her sleeping ALL THE TIME
Thanks guys!! I’m just overly worrying. I guess it’s better that way though
No looks fine! Just rotate her head when she's sleeping on her belly like that so one side isn't flatter than the other and let her lay on her back . I did this with my son and his head is round. My hubbs first son has a flat head in the back and needed a helmet because his mother never held him, he was always laying down on his back or in a bouncy seat. I felt so bad. His almost 9 now and you can tell his head is flat in the back.
Perfectly round 💕 I was just telling my mom about my little ones head today cause it’s nice and round but he’s got a small bald spot in the back cause I hold him constantly 😂
It’s too hard to tell in pictures. If you’re concerned definitely talk to your child’s doctor. 😊
Doesn’t look flat right now but can definitely get that way if she sleeps a lot in swings or bouncers. Baby wearing really helps.
Oh no, her head is fine. My baby has a helmet and his head is really flat that’s why we got one. He slept ALL the time too and was a big baby so that’s why he ended up having a really flat head. The first three months my baby slept most of the day and night. If you baby is a great sleeper, one tip I have for you is if you do notice her head is getting flat, start prevention RIGHT AWAY!! The earlier you do it the better. Try to keep her off her head when she’s awake(trust me, I know it’s hard, but this is SO important!!). They sell flat head pillows you can use when she lays down, they also sell wedges you can put her up on her side that are safe to sleep with. I know they sell one specifically made for a car seat too. Also, try to rotate her head to each side when she sleeps every so often so prevent her from sleeping too much on one spot on her head. My son had a tightness in his neck which caused him to favor leaning his head to the left side, definitely look out for that because it is very common.
Nothing besides a fitted sheet is safe for baby to sleep with. Pillows and other items all can pose a suffocation risk. Also anything that comes between baby and the car seat is not safe to use. It should say in your manual not to add anything that wasn’t manufactured by the car seat company because they’re not approved with their crash testing. Just a heads up 🙂
@aengs2, a physical therapist is probably not going to be educated on car seats. I go by what the manufacturer says, because that’s what is crash tested. Adding something that wasn’t crash tested with the seat means it could cause the seat to not preform properly in the event of an accident.
it looks fine to me mama. i had this feeling a lot too, i just tried to lay with him on his side sometimes, rub his head, i knew it wasn't flat but it made me feel better.
No it looks good. I know someone who’s baby ended up with a flat head in the back and you can’t mistake it. It was literally completely flat in the back.
No ma'am. I had a helmet baby and then one that didn't need a helmet lol your little nuggs head looks perfect ❤
Your baby is beauiful
