SO mommies I need some help. Noah wants out of diapers and tbh I want him out as well but with how delayed his speech is I wasn’t going to push him to potty train being that he can not tell me he needs to potty however the last couple of days at school he goes into the bathroom and tries to pull down his pants and diaper so he can sit on the toilet. What are some ways I can actually do something with this? I’m getting him pull ups for day time only for the sole reason that he cannot communicate with me that he needs to go potty but I’m unsure of what else I can do? I’m starting this weekend

Have you tried sign language

We’re actually working on some signs but all he does is all done(consistently) and more(not consistent)

When you talk to him use your hands. My daughter talks real well but she still points down 👇 and tells me pee pee mom pee pee.

Pull-ups are actually pretty hard to pull up and down without help, so he will probably still need help at school, but it’ll definitely be easier than diapers. At 2 years old I’m sure the teachers are already taking the kids at regular intervals to sit on the potties, at least that’s how it is at my daughter’s school. But if he needs to go he will need to make a sign of some kind. Maybe point down to his pants, or point to the bathroom. I’m sure he will develop his own sign.

He’s in a in home day care so she doesn’t force Potty training. When they are ready or the parents tell us they are potty training then we go through putting them on the potty every 30 minutes

@bubbys.mommy, oh i see. Well the adults will need to pay attention to signs that he needs to go. My daughter is 4, has been speaking in full sentences since 2.5 and knows fully well when she needs to go, yet she still holds it and won’t tell me when she has to go. But I can tell when she’s holding it so I’ll ask her to go when I know she has to. We can’t rely on the kids to always tell us, whether they can speak or not.
