Momma's who sustained fourth degree tears during delivery - will you tell me what your healing experience was like? How long was it before you felt comfortable having sex again? Did you have any other children vaginally and did the scar tissue prove problematic? I am feeling anxious about the future and would like to hear the reality of it

Healing took a long time, took pelvic floor therapy to make sex not hurt.

Just had 2nd baby, only had 1st to 2nd degree tear, recovery is so much faster!

Wow!

What is pelvic floor therapy?

That's awesome that you were able to deliver vaginally again!

I was told that if I wanted to have more kids that they strongly suggest I get a c section because I would likely tear worse than the first time. Did they say anything like that to you?

my doc said it was up to me. Ill be honest first delivery was fast with no pain meds, we induced at 4cm this time with pain meds. So it was much slower and controlled. I did have the option of c section, i just didnt want it.

I had some trouble with incontinence, i saw a colon doctor and be helped.

Plevic floor therapy was physical therapy with a licensed therapist

My experience. Hmmm. Well, I didnt think labor was painful. The healing was the most painful and no one ever told me that. I felt like everyone sugraxoated it and I was not happy lol. The hospital I delivered at did not prescribe me anything for pain and I am not kidding. Getting into the car, sitting in the car, sitting at all, getting out of a really tall bed, it all hurt badly. Peeing hurts trying to clean yourself down there hurts. Just use lots of witch hazel pads that the hospital gives you. The cold moisture feels like heaven down there!!!!

Epidural wore off while they were stitching my tears up so that was just lovely.

They gave me like 120 horsepill ibuprofens that I'm allowed to take once every 8 hours, and 12 Percocet that I'm allowed to take once every four hours but since they only gave me 12 I have only been taking them when the pain is excruciating... I am experiencing some incontinence and I think it's because I'm afraid to go to the bathroom because it hurts so bad....

But what I'm really nervous about is how well will I heal I guess. I looked at the area a few days after being stitched up and it all looks very different. I knew I would tear badly because my anatomy is just small and I'm concerned that they may have sewn me up too much. Now that I'm typing it out I realize that sounds kind of paranoid 😥
