Hey ladies, so I wanted to know,

1. Are parents allowed to kiss their newborn around the face (e.g cheeks) or on lips (literally from when they’re born)?

2. If one of the parents USUALLY gets cold sore and for example, didn’t have cold sore around the time the baby is born, is it still okay to kiss their new born around the face (e.g cheeks) or on the lips?

3. When is it okay for family members to kiss newborns on the lips (even tho that’s a bit weird to me) and also, around the newborns face (e.g cheeks)?

4. When is it okay to take a newborn out in public during winter in a pram, using public transport?

Thank you ladies xx

I kiss my little boy on the lips now because he pulls my face in for kisses, strangely it’s only me he does it to, everyone else he turns his cheek to them 😂 I worry about cold sores even now but when he was a baby nobody got to kiss his face. I always kissed him because when I was feeding he put his hand to my
mouth.

I took him out from 3 days old in February to registrar, then because I had a section I made sure I walked at least twenty minutes a day he got wrapped up and when I brought him back in he was so cosy

My little girl is two and I’ve always kissed her on the lips. I don’t allow everyone to do it just my mum, dad, sister, her dad (my husband) and her uncle. Everyone else isn’t allowed to kiss her on the lips. My daughter is very funny about affection though she will every now and then run up to her childminder and kiss her on the lips but no one else. I don’t personally see what the big problem is about it!? I won’t be kissing her on the lips all her life only whilst she’s young. It’s not like me and her dad will be kissing her on the lips when she’s 13 for example.

I took my LG out when she was 2 days old although I drive so didn’t use public transport (I was desperate for maternity bras 😂 I thought my normal bras would be ok I wasn’t prepared for how big they’d get) plus I had hyperemesis through out my pregnancy and hadn’t eaten properly in 9 months so wanted to eat my body weight in food. As long as baby is wrapped up and warm you’ll be fine xxx

About the kiss, that’s true, they don’t stay young forever. About the maternity bras, thinking about it now, I need to get some for myself as I haven’t got any. Thanks for “reminding” me to do so lol xx

@susan23, I absolutely adore Poppys sloppy kisses, I smile from ear to ear when she hasn’t seen me all day runs up to me and gives me a big kiss! They grow up so so quickly I feel like I’ve blinked and she’s nearly three so I love that affection xxx

You can kiss your baby whenever you want! Cold sores are only active and contagious after they have been popped and are producing puss or scabbed over. I took both of mine out at 5 days old after I felt well enough x

Family members usually kiss my boy on the head and I only ever kiss him on the cheek. Not really thought about kissing him on the lips as he can’t exactly kiss back yet and I’ll just be covered in dribble 😂

Loool haha yes the dribble😩😂, I guess I won’t mind forehead kisses from family members then but I’ll be keeping an eye on them incase they wnna go on the lips because I definitely won’t allow that lol👁

Was this during winter or summer? I would like to go registration office to register his birth about 2 weeks after he’s born but he’ll be born during winter time and we’ll be doing this using a public transport, Don’t know if that’ll be ok

You can kiss your baby wherever you want to noone will have a say in that and its up to you who you want to kiss your baby and where they kiss them. I suffer from coldsores so i didnt kiss olivia on the lips when she was newborn only on the head and if i got one i wouldnt go near her face at all as the herpes virus can kill babys. Now shes older i do kiss her on the lips but never if i was to have a coldsore.

You can take baby out whenever you want x
