I'm having trouble finding a good OBGYN. I'm 7 weeks and they haven't done an ultrasound I haven't even saw the doctor. Just the nurse. Is that normal in USA? Any advice? #new mom #obgynsucks #wherecanigetmyultrasound

Very normal. Sounds like your OB doesn’t suck and is just following standard care guidelines.

Thats very normal. When finding your OBGYN you should be very careful & do your research because you want to be sure that your baby will be cared for by one of the best ! Also you want to make sure that your doctor Truly cares about your health 💕 I wish you a blessed pregnancy & a beautiful baby

That’s how it is everywhere. Most wont even schedule first appt until after 8 weeks. Usually first appt prior to 8 weeks is for blood work, pap etc

My first appointment was an education visit with the nurse at 9 weeks. I had an obgyn visit at 10 weeks and they did an ultrasound to check how far I was. This time around I did midwives, which typically don't do ultrasounds. So my first one was my 20 weeks one, however I had an emergency one at 12/13 weeks because I was bleeding (cyst on my ovary burst)

That happened to me on Friday I start bleeding and run to the ER they did a vaginal ultrasound and say baby is ok probably bleeding was due to a ovary burst. Thanks for sharing with me !

Typically the first ultrasound is done between 8-12 weeks I would say in my experiences (at a US doctor). Those that have earlier ones typically are high risk or there is another reason for it as that isn’t what I would say is the norm because typically earlier on you can’t see much yet.
