I’m a Trump supporter. I “suffered” through Obama twice, now it’s my turn, as a Republican and wall-supporter to gloat. 😉
Trump said Mexico would pay for the wall either just to get elected or because he seriously overestimated his position in the world thinking he could make any leader of a nation do something so ridiculous. That being said, Trump has promised all throughout his campaign and time in office that this wall will be built.
It’s happening.
He’s a businessman. Not a politician. He doesn’t care about reelection. He’s proven many, many times how little regard he has for the feelings of others. What he wants, he will get. He has the ever-expendable budget of the most powerful nation on the planet in the palms of his hands. He will do what he wants so long as it’s “for the people”.
If it makes us safer, so be it. We’ll just be more and more in debt (as we have been for years and years and years) and if it doesn’t, then Donald Trump will pay for it one way or another.

@ek_, I don’t think it’s embarrassing for him at all. He said people are hurting and he’s temporarily halting the shut down so they can pay their rent, buy groceries and pay their bills. Nothing embarrassing about that.
This wall is a good thing and not everyone agrees with that, including Democrats in office. So if Trump promised to build a wall he’s going to build a wall.
You really don’t think it’s embarrassing that he promised multiple times that Mexico was going to pay for it? Didn’t deliver. Asked for BILLIONS of dollars for the wall & couldn’t deliver? Then threw a temper tantrum when he didn’t get his way so hard-working government employees were visiting food banks and returning their kids Christmas presents just to be able to get through the shutdown? And even that didn’t work? Yikes.
How is it not embarrassing to sign the exact same bill that he refused to sign 34 days ago. Which started the whole shut down in the first place?
Just for about 2 weeks. Unless an agreement is made about this boarder control. Did anyone watch the address yesterday?
It’s become about Democrats turning this into a political issue when it’s actually a security issue. I don’t think Trump is dumb for prolonging this when this is what he campaigned for. America voted.
This is a temporary agreement right now because Trump said people are hurting financially from the govt shutdown so he stopped it until February 15th so they can get paid and receive back pay for the last 35 days, which is when there has to be another agreement made to build the wall or he will most likely declare a national security and build it anyway. 😬
He kinda looks dumb when he campaigned on this with promises that Mexico would pay for it - fail. Held the federal government hostage thinking he’d get his way - fail. And now is reopening the government after a month with absolutely nothing accomplished towards his campaign promise. Embarrassing. 😬
@klazaro wall or no wall this president has with his presence hurt many lives from separating children from families to turning people against each other because of thier color of skin or nationality and letting peole starve and not pay thier rent. While letting many people in the White House loose thier jobs and even go to jail it's a mess all over !!!
I think if nothing happens in 3 weeks Trump will declare a state of emergency.
I've heard it's only temporary, for about like 3 weeks or so.

@verguinia just remember that elections have consequences and that it is our civic duty to vote for the people we want into public office.
