Does anyone else have a real problem saying no to people? I feel really poop right now, this is our first baby and could quite possibly be our only. I really want the experience of choosing a pram and other things and have an idea of the kind of things we like and really just want to experience everything ourselves - there are just so many people saying they have stuff they'll give us (Not all of it is particularly pleasant condition-wise) and if I say "yeah we will see!" I get attitude back, and at the same time I'm grateful for the help, I also feel like this is all I've ever wanted and is it wrong for me to feel a little upset that other people are picking things out for our baby and I can't seem to say "no" without feeling like an ungrateful sod! I feel so crap about it and I just dont know what to do.
My mil and husband's sisters always try and give me a massive bag of old clothes everytime we visit. I'll look through and maybe pick one or 2 bits and say thanks but we don't have space to save loads of clothes (which we don't). So leave the rest. The mil has stopped bringing so many over but will still bring a bag 🙈 A friend gave me a bouncer and one of those entertainment walkers which was great. Their expensive but only used for such a short time so I was thankful for those lol.
I am useless at saying no and you won’t believe that amount of stuff I’ve been given that people clearly aren’t giving just to be helpful, but just to get rid of. I had someone I barely know give me a bag of toys that stink of fags and were dirty 🤦🏼♀️ you just have to go with “aww thank you but we already have one” or tell them you aren’t getting anything for the baby yet as you have no where to store it x
My mum made a few comments when I refused a couple hand me downs but when I look back I actually accepted and sought out quite a lot of second hand stuff for Morgan. But part of enjoying pregnancy & becoming parents is going out & getting new baby bits so I wanted to enjoy doing that with my husband too. You'll soon get used to saying no and sticking the finger up at people's unwanted comments 🤣
Oh god I hope so! I don't feel Luke myself at all so that's probably not helping me not be a doormat lol! I don't mind second-hand at all, I'd just like to pick it 😅 xx
If someone offers something you don't want just say thanks that's really kind to offer but we've already got that or got our eye on the one we want. If they don't like that then thats their issue. As long as your not rude about it. We can't please everyone in life so no point in trying. I had hand me downs with our first as it does help with some things. Clothes, sterilser, moses basket (new matress and sheets etc though). Even a bouncer. But there were bits I wanted new and a pram was one of them. Once you learn not to care what others think it makes it much easier saying no thanks! Lol
I'm normally good at saying no and being diplomatic, I just seem to have lost the ability altogether! Xx
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
Things I never thought I'd say...
Until I became a mom:

Took this lastnight...and I'm not sure how I should feel. I've made a terrible mistake by having sex so soon after having a baby but it has made such a precious thing. I really don't want to have an abortion but my Fiancé does. I understand why he wants to go that route but I just would feel absolutely terrible about doing that. I cried all night...I really don't know what to do. PLEASE NO JUDGING IM ONLY POSTING THIS FOR SUPPORT.
I know I've posted this before but when your water was leaking did it stay leaking or just with movements or what? Did you get contractions shortly after or no? I rolled out of bed and felt warmth leak out but Idk if it was possibly urine or what...never had it happen. It didn't smell like anything really...I know I should either call l&d or go in but I just want some experiences please. I want to wait a bit just in case it's nothing.
I feel horrible because i dont want to be pregnant. I mean i was excited and everything when i found out. Mlre so shocked. But as time is going on, i just dont want to be pregnant. Is that an ok thing to say? Although i already love this little girl and thats mostly why i feel bad for feeling that way. Not sure if something is wrong with me or its just im over it now because i feel like this pregnancy is dragging on
I think maybe it's not me, maybe it's the people I'm trying to say no to are making me feel ungrateful for not accepting it. My mum bought a lovely cot for us which I don't mind then someone else decided to offer me something and having seen how it was treated when their son used it I tried the whole "thank you I do appreciate it but we've been looking at one we would like" and I got a shedload of attitude back -_- thanks for the help ladies! 🙂 xx
