Anyone else deal with their mother being extremely pushy during pregnancy/ with the baby? I have made it very clear that I want to keep a camping/ adventure / nature color theme in her room. I can’t stand the plastered in pink and purple. She continuously keeps ordering pink things and trying to set up a secret baby shower in all pink even though my friends and close family planning with her have told her that’s not what we wanted to do. We want to keep it in earth tones and nature themed for everything and a pink baby shower is going to encourage everyone to just buy pink things.
I hate that it makes me sound like a brat. But this isn’t the chance for my mom to fix her mistakes or get a redo with my baby.
@nomli, @mswedes, she’s just so convinced that adventure / nature themed stuff is for boys. Yes, I am pretty tomboyish. I always have been. I’m a fucking mechanic for a living 🤦🏻♀️ but it’s not like I’m trying to press that to my kid. I just think there’s something great about having kids that LOVE the outdoors ( I mean she’s going to love whatever she wants anyway.) but I’m pretty sure my mom thinks I’m just trying to make her a boy 😒
🙄 everyone assumed that we were having a boy because my registry was full of blue items. I just like blue! And dislike pink most of the time. The nursery was painted blue too, and would have stayed blue even if we had a girl.
Nature is wonderful to love, no matter who you are! I'd throw a knight fighting off a dragon into the decor, but have the knight be a girl cause that's just cool.
My mil ruined my baby shower because she refused to hear anything I wanted. Also like @nomli, said I want so badly to not find out this time. I hate all things pink and bows and my mil insists that girls must have them. I hope your family can get through to your mother.
Honestly, that's one of the reasons we chose not to find out until birth. We had a boy anyway, but it stopped people from buying themed gifts. I would have hated to get all sports themed things, and if I ever have a girl I do not want all pink and bows.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I planned my own baby shower to avoid issues like this. Even though I had a boy, I had a tea party in green, yellow, blue and purple. After all, it’s not like the baby is there to see it enjoy the decorations or theme.
It’s all about you, mama, and I think a nature theme sounds lovely! I’m sorry she’s not on board with it, but try not to let her bad attitude bring you down.
