My house has two bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs the rest of the basement is unfinished my son is in the second bedroom upstairs we are expecting in October how would you use the third bedroom I don’t wanna put my son downstairs and I don’t want to move us downstairs and have the kids upstairs I’m not sure how to make the space work any ideas?

I would have them share a room and make the downstairs a play room until they get older

Depending on gender you'd most likely have to give them separate rooms. I think it'd be better to have you down stairs with the kids upstairs.
Can you remodel? Maybe split the basement into bedrooms, move to the lower level and them be bellow you?

The room is small and i don’t want them waking each other up all the time. So I’m trying to figure out something else that will work. We are renting but I’m not sure moving is an option for us right now.

I'd definitely put us downstairs (because we'd be gatekeepers between upstairs and outside) and pair the kiddos upstairs. Would also allow us to continue using the entire first floor after their bedtime without tiptoeing too much. Past experience says that when you're downstairs you'll likely hear pretty much any movement coming from upstairs, anyway.
