I am never ever ever ever ever ever allowing a potty chair in my house again. My son has been so stubborn about transitioning to a regular toilet that I have gotten rid of his potty chair to push him to get on with pooping in a toilet and be done. It is so frustrating and gross that I have decided future children don't get an option they will have a seat reducer and will just have to like it.

I read a book on potty training by a lady who is a professional nanny. She said potty chairs and pull ups are a big NO. 1. Pull ups mimic diapers and confuse the child. Just use underwear. 2. Potty chairs will not help a child get used to the big scary toilet that flushes loud. Especially when you are out in town and have to use a public restroom. It's best that they learn on the real toilet.

I knew not to do pull ups, I'm not wasting time and money on that lol. The flush doesn't scare my son just the size I think intimidates him. It's amazing how much you learn and change for second children.

Try putting a wee wee pad or something similar inside so you can just grab it and dump it all

Way too much work for many reasons, plus unnecessary things to buy.

I never used a potty chair, I used the potty seat that goes on the regular toilet seat, A lot better in my experience.

I learned the hard way. But I'm glad I've made this decision so I don't go through it again.

There's plenty of good seat reducer options for beginners as well as those doing it themselves so I think it won't be an issue.

He started resisting the toilet so we just let him use what ever, then he was really stubborn about pooping in either so we went with whatever we could get. Now I'm just so over it because my husband never cleans it out when he deals with poop even though I tell him every time it happens. I don't even want that to be a possibility next time.

Clap your hands when your child goes to the potty. 8.)Take your child every 15-30 minutes to the potty 9.)Don't criticize your child 10.) I don't recommend pull ups but I don't bash mothers who decided to use them. 11.) Remember potty training is not taught in one day you have to be determined to potty train your child.
