I am a federal worker and we are going back to work Thursday. Not paid until the shutdown is over. I’m sure other departments are going to do the same thing.
I didn't want to ask my son's teacher, I don't want to be rude for asking so I've just been supplying the class with things every week. I hope they are
Wic depends on the state because it's state funded, I'm pretty sure the school lunches are also. But these things are at risk if we get that far. Hopefully they'll come to an agreement soon.
So now I'm wondering though what happens to the kids who can't afford the breakfast and lunch if the money runs out come march amd the shutdown still continues
@itsmely hopefully there's another option. Even if it's just some dumb cheese sandwich or whatever. But they'd most likely go without unless the school is willing to work with the families.
I'm seriously worried about my son's special education class and all the other kids to be honest I know alot of moms who cant afford to even pay that. I'd be willing to pay for kids in the classroom if that's an option cause I can't imagine them not getting fed 😞
I saw it broken down somewhere that Trump is asking for like $52 out of a $20k+ budget. Every President wants to be immortalized. Clinton got his dick sucked (I'm sure that's not what he planned to be remembered by but here we are) Bush had his war, Trump wants his wall. He's also probably laughing that since they're keeping the shutdown going, soon they'll have to start permanently firing the same furloughed ppl who usually spend most of their day on capital hill fighting against anything Trump says or does.
On the other side of that coin, the wall will be useless if it ever gets successfully built. They have been taking bids from contractors not engineers, any actual engineer says this will not work and will not be accomplished in the budget he's requesting.
Overall, I think it's ridiculous. All of it. I think wanting to build a wall is stupid but I support stopping illegals from entering our country. I don't trust democrats who still praise Hillary when she rigged the vote to win over Bernie, has very clear and obvious ties to George Soros, and encouraged an entire political party to act like children who didn't get their way. If you look into it, the "sanctuary cities" give democrats more voting power, they aren't concerned with the dangers or costs to the American people by allowing these people in, only that they might get more power than the Republicans. IMO
Yea but what makes me worried is if they are starting to shut down the government its not only about the people who are on assistance if they dont care about them what makes everyone think they wont shut down everyone elses resources too , what if thats just the start to things ...gotta think bigger as well ANYTHING can happen we all use the goverment in some way or another shut down some half of the system then what about the other half , what happens when they get greedy and say welp we are taking jobs away to we need a more controlled system , u cant say it will never happen because look who are President is

Even if we are still shutdown Government workers are going back to their office without pay to keep programs going.

And I live in a sanctuary state, I like to believe our economy as a state is good. But we are going to be greatly affected by the shutdown.
