I need some advice. My baby’s about to be 4 months old in a week. Me and my baby father just recently split up and I refuse to become one of those moms that hogs the kid and barely lets daddy see them. I know he’ll want to have her some days and even over night which I don’t have a problem with. My question is at what age? I mean I feel like she’s just so small still and I’m not sure how I’ll feel even when she’s a bit older. He hasn’t asked to take her yet but I’m not sure when he will want to or how to go about it. I just feel so attached & I work all week and a second job on weekends so I already spend a lot of time away from her and it hurts my heart. She sleeps in my bed, I can’t even imagine sleeping without her. Any advice? At what age did you feel comfortable doing this??

I'd wait till 1 year for any over night visits. But Let him have all the day visits he'd like within reason lol.

I was in this predicament, I waited until 9 months until he could stay with his dad and even then he’s around his grandma and aunts so I felt more comfortable. Like above poster, waiting until eating and sitting up on their own I felt more comfortable with it. 😊 good luck mama!

She's a bit young for over night visits. I'd wait till shes able to eat baby food and move around freely and safely (meaning rolling back and forth with ease and can lift herself up) so you don't have to worry about her rolling on to her face and not being able to roll back. So maybe like 8m?

Iv never been in this position but what I would do is just wait until I felt comfortable enough for him to have her over night. Maybe offer day visits but hold off on over night visits until she’s older ❤️

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.
