We moved both of our kids to their own rooms at 6 weeks because they both slept better in their own space. If they preferred being near us instead, we would have kept them in our room in a bassinet or a pack and play. You’ll figure out what works best for you.

He's in with us for quite awhile. I just feel it makes more sense since you'll be up every few hrs. Ds3 didn't sleep in his own room until 3. I dont want to wait that long with the one though.

We keep ours in our room for about 3-4 months and then they go in their own room (with a monitor of course lol)

My son slept in a rock n play in our room until he turned 4 months then I went back to work so I moved him into his own room. He heard my alarm on my first day so I couldn’t keep him in our room. He was sleeping thru the night very early on so there wasn’t really any point in him being in our room anyway.

My sons pediatriction told us is preferred for the baby to sleep in the same room as us for the first 6 months but longer is okay too. After my son is one i will try moving his crib to his own room

My daughter is 4.5 months and still sleeps in a bassinet next to my bed. Once she outgrows it she'll move into her own room in her crib.
