Soooo does anyone know if it’s true that if you get a prescription for your child’s formula that insurance will pick up a lot of it ? My sons formula is 30$, he goes through 9-10 cans a month. And with this government shut down possibly shutting Wic down I’m not playing around 😭

I think that’s only true for special formula.

He’s on nutramigen, it’s hypoallergenic . Would that count as “special”? Do you think?

I’m honestly not too sure, but it might be worth asking about!

@littleonemorning, I’m def going to !

A friend's daughter had to be on a special formula that cost almost $60 a can because she was severely allergic to pretty much every other type, and insurance barely covered any of it. It might depend on your insurance company, though, and what your plan entails.

I’ll have to give a call. Thank you !

I tried this for my daughter. I was told they would only pay for it if she was so sick that she was being fed through a tube and that it had to be the ready to use formula and not the powder. We had to do Nutramigen and Alimentum which is just stupid expensive. But if you’re on WIC and insurance I’m not sure how it works.

What insurance do you have?
