We had a court house wedding and we called and set a date and time then showed up an hour early to get our license and got married. I even wore a dress and everything. It was beautiful (:

They don't do courthouse weddings anymore in our county we got the license and had to call around looking for a preacher we ended up getting married in my parents front yard but overall it was a pretty special day
It depend on your state and county, probably. Here you apply for the marriage license, wait the three days or so to get it, and then call to schedule the marriage. In NJ we need to have a witness to get the license, and two witnesses at the ceremony.

You just go get your marriage license and talk to the courthouse about a date etc. pretty simple and straightforward, good luck!

I figured it was pretty simple but wasn’t sure. No one I know has done one 😂 is there a specific marriage part of the courthouse usually?

that was my plan but my mother in law insisted I had a wedding dress. We got married June 7th and I thought I was going to die from the heat lol

With a marriage license do you have to do the preacher part or does just the license count?
