My heart goes out to those suffering with this government shut down. As someone who makes barely above the cut off for assistance, I’m not sure how these families will get by. My SO and I work full time and barely make enough to cover rent and bills. I just want to point out the people effected aren’t just living off the system. I know so many hard working people who can’t make ends meet. My mom works in a warehouse, my dad works at the YMCA, you add brain cancer in the mix and they can afford bills or food. Don’t just assume those effected are living off the system.

I totally feel for all these people sadly those who do live off the system give everyone on assistance a bad rep 😞 We don’t have WIC and such up here in Canada but hopefully some churches and other organizations will step in and do some food drives etc to help those in need if your government shut down continues!

Also, there are government workers who are not getting paid. Not having any income for weeks on end is a horrible prospect!
The Coast Guard are now working without pay, as are TSA agents at all the airports. Lots of folks affected.

THIS!!! I get others who are on government assistance are worried and “sad”. But what about those who work for the government...? They aren’t getting assistance OR a paycheck AND still gotta go to work. Let me get off this app.

That’s exactly what I just said above....these poor employees are going without their whole incomes 😩
