Crying it out before they are ready can cause a load of emotional issues now & later in life , you are your baby’s safe place only time I ever let my lo cry is if I’m in the shower he’ll be in his bouncer right outside the curtain.

No I wouldn’t unless it’s a fake cry. My doctors have never mentioned crying it out and I doubt they’d recommend for me to let my son cry it out.

At 2 months, no. I didnt let my kids cry for more than a few seconds until they were a year old. Even now if my youngest cries he cries 2 minutes tops before I'm soothing him.

I don’t agree with the cry it out method. Your baby is crying for a reason.

I think two months is a little early for the crying it out stage after 6 months yes

Definitely not that young . Whining is one thing . My son is 9 months and I’m just starting to somewhat let him cry for a few minutes. Never to excess though .

I was told the same thing. Let him cry it out for 15 at max. But I’ve never done it. I feel way too bad and he’s just soooo young still

Hell nah never going to I put her down to do something sometimes but pretty quick about it because I don't let her sit there and cry

Have you tried wearing her or swaddling her? Or is there a reason she could be upset?

I don’t mind her being needy. I just don’t want to spoil like people say. Or sleeping on her own.

@saleena, you can’t spoil a two month old . It’s not a thing ! Lol I always hated hearing that. My doctor finally told me to sit down and listen . A baby will cry for a reason. A 2 month old cant self soothe and won’t understand pain or why she’s wet and or uncomfortable or why she’s hungry. The only way she knows how to communicate is to cry! Sometimes they just need their mom. When they’re a bit older and can understand a bit more, that’s different

perfect!! Thank you so much!! It’s good hearing that I’m not the only one who thinks the spoiled thing is ridiculous!! At least at this age.

If you have to get stuff done, then you have to get stuff done. If you have to set her down to do some chores or cook or clean or shower or tend to another child and she whines for 5 minutes, she’ll be just fine. My daughter was like that at that age. Just so whiny! Especially at night. Her doctor said it was a developmental stage at that age. Luckily she outgrew it. During that time my husband was out of town for weeks at a time so it was just me and my two kids. I had no one to help so I had no choice but to set her down for a few minutes at a time. There was nothing wrong, she just wanted to be held. It’s just a case by case basis really. Remember that your sanity matters too. This phase will pass!

Thank you so much!!! I’m going to have to just set her down here and there. My husband deploys in a month so I’m going to have to.

@saleena, You’re welcome! It’s so tough, I know. Just take it one day at a time and do your best.

If Lily cried for more than 2 minutes (hard cry) she would choke on her own spit. No, crying it out is okay if it's a whiny cry but not a hard cry. Listen to your gut.

@mom2les, my husband deploys in a month so I’m hoping it changes by then. When did she eventually get out of that stage?
