so my cousin is becoming addicted to taking percs and I see it’s becoming a problem. she says she doesn’t want to stop taking them. her husband keeps getting them for her he doesn’t want her buying them from a random person or anything and end up getting fake ones. he has told her no but then she does look for someone else who’s selling them. i’ve been living w her for the past 3 yrs and now I don’t feel comfortable staying there. it’s affecting her and her husbands relationship and when they’re constantly fighting it changes the whole mood of the house. her mom has talked to her and she tells her she wants to stop and also said she doesn’t need them. but that doesn’t seem true, she takes at least 2 a day and it’s everyday & if they’re not the strong ones then she gets mad and wants different ones. she says she takes them for her back pain but honestly if it’s that bad i feel like you should go to the doctor and get a prescription. basically my question is- how do I go about talking to her and letting her know how worried I am? I don’t want to be in the house bc there are risks and I don’t want her around me or my son in that state of mind. this whole situation is stressing me out and I feel like I need to fix it

Sit her down, explain to her that u love her and your worried about her, and that if she needs help and or support that your here for her, let her know how important she is, if shes not ready to fight for herself and stop using, then shes not going to, she has to be ready, i was addicted to heroin for almost 2 years, so i know how it is, im not sure how long shes been using but i hope she decides to get some help before it gets worse because eventually the perks stop working and people start doing heroin. Im not saying that will happen to her nessisarily but im praying for you and for her. Good luck ❤. If u need some one to talk to or have any quistions you can always inbox me, im here and would love to help

thank you 😔 i’m just so worried, I don’t want her turning to other drugs bc they don’t work for her anymore. she’s been taking them for about a month now and she’s had a problem in the past w pills and her mom had to get her help. that was when she was younger so of course she didn’t have a choice to get help or not but now she’s older so we can’t force her to do anything, that makes it even harder. I just wish it hadn’t gotten to this point

Also i know how it feels feeling like u need to fix it. But like i said just let her know u love her and you are here for her if she wants help, and thats all u can do love. Sadly you cant fix it unless she wants help. Getting help was the best decision i ever decided to make. Im so much happier and im not scared and sad all the time. It sucks and it happens to alot of people and i just hate what drugs are doing to this world. Ive lost friends and family and i still have people who struggle with this, and it just sucks
