Hey ladies. I started giving my 4.5 month old some baby cereal (doctor is okay with it) now how much a day is okay to serve him? I don’t know if it’s hard on the stomach or if it’s okay to give him a few feedings?
And how much is the right serving per feed?

It should either say on the packaging or your doctor could advise as your doctor knows your baby and his tummy.

I say that ⬆️ as I remember your baby had reflux so us mommies really shouldn't be advising in this, your doctor should.

He doesn’t have reflux anymore but thank you

I made a very thin oat cereal and water mixture of about 1 tablespoon to start with as much water as needed for desired consistancy once a day then increased from there as he was finishing it all and was acting more hungry, by 6 months or so I was 3 tablespoons twice to 3 times daily if I remember correctly, just to give you a time span where j increased the cereal lol but you really just have to go by how your baby responds

He seems to want more than a tablespoon. But I end up finishing with his formula. I get nervous more than a tablespoon will be make him sick.

Give him a few days, a week whatever you feel comfortable with and see, is he spitting up, be coming more constipated etc and modify from there. They will have thicker poops and the smell may change when you start on cereal, sorry if you did say which one you were using and I missed it but I would recommend oat cereal and not rice cereal as it is a nicer texture to work with and has much less issues or potential for constipation compared to rice or wheat cereal

Yes I’m giving him oat, I’ll see it goes .. thank you
