I thought that once my daughter started walking, her being into everything was going to be the problem. Lies! We can’t go into Walmart without her wanting to get out the basket to walk. She doesn’t like holding anyone’s hand. And when I put the backpack leash on her people criticize me. So instead I have to deal with a 1 year old throwing a temper tantrum in the basket while I’m shopping 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

I had that mindset at first. But then they threatened to call CPS. Which I don’t understand because I bought it at Walmart 😒

Use the leash! Don't listen if people criticize you. You know your daughter. We used a leash for him when he was younger and all I got were compliments or commiserations. (At least to my face. I didn't care about what they were thinking.)

(I also had a leash as a child because I'd wander off too much. I even got lost at an amusement park!)

I like using it because she likes to just go. And like I said she’s so independent and don’t want to hold anyone’s hand so it’s the only thing I can think of to do. I’m gonna continue to do it because I don’t want her wandering off or screaming and yelling in the basket 🤦🏽♀️

@momofkem_sam, we got him a backpack one that looked like a dinosaur shell. My sister got her son a backpack giraffe one. I do anything and everything to keep him from screaming out in public, and I'm sure all the bystanders appreciate it.

I have a dinosaur one for her. And it keeps her from throwing a huge fit. I bought for when we go to amusement parks but I had to bring it out a little earlier 😂

No one can call cps on you for using a child leash. Cps would probably laugh honestly because by putting her on a child leash you're doing your best to keep her safe and it's not like you're dragging her around or treating her like a dog.

@nomli, 😂😂😂 yeah you’re right. I guess since I’ve had them call on me before when the hospital broke her arm and they took away my kids and placed them with my mom. When I hear someone say it I start to panic because I don’t want to go through it again.

@momofkem_sam if you're worried about the leash though you can buy this double bracelet they have for kids, on goes on you and the other would go on her and they are connected so she can walk but not able to run off. Just like a leash but not one.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I plan on getting some for my oldest cause she likes to wander too🤦🏽♀️ I have a dinosaur backpack one for my youngest.

I use a leash! Kids take off quick, they can take their dirty looks and shove it. I get the same looks, mostly with women...

I had a leash as a kid, mum said I used to bark at people if they made comments 😂😂😂 I will use one with little man if necessary too! Their safety is #1 not what anyone else thinks. Don't let them bother you! I would just say to them if they have a problem, "here, you take her shopping with you! "
