Just curious about the feelings when you have a son compared to having a girl. We tried for 4 years to have a baby and we had a girl. For the first little while I didnt feel that connection with her. Now were having a son and I feel connected already. Alot of people tell me the connection with a son and mother is different. What's your experience?

I don’t notice a difference. I didn’t connect right away with my son because I had PPD. I’ve bonded with my daughter very intensely but it has nothing to do with her gender. It has depended on my state of mind.

@skymomof4 Her and I are connected and so in love now. But I know it wont be a less or more sort of thing but more of like a different connection maybe? I think also I get jealous of the bond my bonus son has with his mom even tho I've raised him since he was 4 and hes 9. He doesnt remember his life with her but they have a bond I never will and now I'm having a boy so I'm excited about it mayne. I dont know lol @aengs2

Yes that's sooooo real! My daughter is a spitting image of her dad and also the biggest daddy's girl ever!!! Dad works away from home for 2 weeks and home for 2 weeks. If I'm holding her and and he comes into the room she will throw a fit in my arms and kick off me and push away reaching for him. She wont come to me at all or let me do anything for her. When shes angry at me she cries for dada. When shes hungry or wants something she cries for him. But when hes not home she doesnt do any of that

I think it's a myth that a woman gives birth and is just automatically connected to her baby. It doesn't work that way all the time. Take the time to get to know your baby and look at them and squish them and kiss on them. It's okay to not be instantly connected.

Ya it honestly took me a little while with my daughter that's for sure. I didnt feel connected at all to this pregnancy till just recently

@chadandtanya14 it always passes. This has happened with a few friends of mine. And everything turned out just perfect
