Tips on getting my almost 10m old to eat actual food instead of baby food ?
She’ll eat some food but is mostly just smushing it in her hands 😩
Send helppppp
I’m looking for tips too. All of my kids are picky. I want them to try foods first. I think you are doing a great job. I like the idea of putting what she likes and the stuff she don’t/haven’t tried. What about mixing them? Do u think she would try that?
@lizology27_bb, I’m just gonna continue what I’m doing , she eats and that’s what is important . Plus her pediatrician says she’s doing great .
Foods before 1 are pretty much for fun, to get used to tastes and textures.
You can try baby led. It's a tough road. Introduce some veggies like peas or greenbeans and move from there.
I’m pretty much trying that . She’ll eat some things like toast with peanut butter and some fruits and veggies but some things she’ll automatically just smush in her hand and throw off the table . So I was looking for tips , but thanks I’ll continue with what I’m doing
@momofemersonbliss awww, she may not like the taste then lol. You're doing great!
My 1yo does the same 😂
@mychemicalshaymance, I’m thinking the same . For instance she’ll eat strawberries but not raspberries . But thank you
Shes only 10 months. Most people dont start table food until a year. Shes still learning and shes still really young. Give it time.
@fourkidsandababy, oh the post was still up so I didn’t consider it “dead” per se. OP is looking for tips so when other moms are able to get on to provide them, then they would.
@fourkidsandababy, yet you commented an hour after I finished talking to you , so
Who’s beating a dead horse ? I told you to have a nice day and that i asked for tips about two

Your answers are not helpful to me .
@momofemersonbliss I must be real simple, but I don't think @fourkidsandababy was being insulting or offensive. I think that "give it time," is a great tip. It's the same advice I have for you, just keep giving her the food and let her do what she does, it's going to take time.
I heard that food is "an acquired taste," 😂 and that's why most babies seemingly aren't "intrested" in food... however I'm not minimizing your feelings or concerns, it can be frustrating.
It's pretty normal. Nothing to worry about.
@momofemersonbliss put a towel or old sheet under her high chair when she eats.
@momofemersonbliss she's exploring. The sheet idea is good for the mess. The first months of blw was heaven for my dogs 😂 so the cleanup wasn't bad for me. Let her go at her own pace though, she's figuring out what she likes and it's good for fine motor skills by playing with the different food textures. Just keep doing what you're doing! 💜
@bodybycheetos, lol I can
Imagine , maybe I should get a dog 🤔 . For
The most past i just put a variety out for her and she eats what she pleases . Some she smushes and puts in her mouth some
She throws directly on the floor but I’ll continue what I’m doing ! Thanks !
This is why I do baby led weaning at 6 months. My kids always go through a picky stage at 12-18 months but after that they will eat anything. Just be consistent she will catch on eventually.
