@cowgirl2790, nope I’m pretty busy non stop moving and doing things so we can get everything done in time 😞 and yeah I might try that!
Or look into a car charger for your pump. Then you can pump on the way home.
Is there anyway you can fit a pump in between 5 and midnight? I think that would really help. I would try upping your dose of fenugreek..?
@cowgirl2790, I take fenugreek as well I breastfeed when I’m home from 9am-5pm but when I get home at midnight I pump
I pumped with both kiddos. With my son I dried up at 8 weeks without even trying. That was with the Medela though. The Spectra was a lot better for my milk supply. My supply still was never enough to feed only breastmilk though.
Up until about a week ago when my baby finally started latching i was EP. my supply was fine. But I have heard stories about people not responding well to pumping, so to make sure I was producing enough, I started taking fenugreek. My baby is 11 weeks, I produce enough to feed him plus I’ve already got about 2,000 frozen.
I exclusively pumped for 1 year.
There was a change in my supply once my period started when I was 9 months post partum but I never dried up completely until I decided to stop after a year.
I did have a supply problem right after my daughter was born. I wasn't able to produce any milk until 10 days after I delivered. I ended up buying donor milk from a milk bank to give my daughter and pumped like crazy to get my milk started.
Once my milk finally came in, if I felt that I wanted to produce more milk I just made and ate lactation cookies and that always increased my supply. (There are a ton of lactation cookie recipes online)
This was my pumping routine. Once I established a supply.. I pumped more when I didn't have any milk.
I pumped at these times every day for the first 6 months for at least 30 minutes each session. 6am, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and midnight.
After 6 months I pumped every 4 hours for at least 30 minutes per pumping session.
When I stopped pumping after a year I had over 3000oz in my freezer stash.
It's harder to exclusively pump long term. The body just doesn't respond to the pump as it would a baby.
I did for 10 months and my supply dried up. Exclusively pumping is VERY difficult.
I am! And no as long as you keep up with your schedule you should be good! Been doing it for a year now and never had a problem with my supply
I EPd with my daughter for a year, 0 supply problems. You just have to keep up your routine and drink drink drink!
