Tips to get my LO to sleep longer at night? She’s literally up every two hours wanting to feed and after I burp her and change her she’s then wanting to stay up for a bit like 20-30 minutes to just look around and jabber. I’m going to be starting school back so I really need to get more sleep at night

Babies aren’t supposed to sleep through the night at this age. She’ll sleep in longer stretches later on. My kid still wakes up at night. It might benefit you to look into the 4th trimester. Babies need more than just full bellies and a clean diaper. All she knew for 9 months was you. The world is scary. Can you take a semester off or switch to online classes?

I’ve learned it helps to keep the lights dim, or even off if you can. I just leave my tv on, and that’s enough light to feed him. I noticed as soon as the lights go on he thinks it’s time to get up.

It is rare that a month old baby will sleep much longer at a time. Maybe soon she will start doing spurts of 4-6 hours but I wouldn't count on it. Some babies wake every few hours until they are 1 or longer but not many. My first two started sleeping a full 8-11 hours around 3-4 months and my last not until 6-8 months.

When my son was 1 month he would only sleep the longest 3 hours then wake up for feeding/diaper change then go back to sleep my son is really good sleeper and good at going back to sleep right away what I do is when I change him I have the lights off with just the night light on and when I feed him I have no lights on and I try not to talk to him or else he’ll think I want to play with him and he always falls to sleep right after

This is what they do at that age. Maybe, just maybe, she'll sleep longer in a couple months.

My son started sleeping all night at 2 months old. He would take frequent naps during the day up until about 6pm when I’d keep him awake, play games, read books, keep all the lights in the house on and play music. Then I’d put him down at 8:30 sharp with lullaby’s playing in the background and it’s been that way for over 1 1/2 years now. Same routine and still sleeps all night. I think tiring them out, making sure they know when it’s light and dark outside and consistency is key. Good luck mama!

Where does baby sleep? Both of my babies started sleeping all night (8-12 hours) once I put them in their crib in their own room. That was when they were 6 weeks old. They like a night light and a sound machine. Overall they just sleep much better in their own space. Not all babies are like that though. Hang in there!
