I took my dds when she was two. She understood more by that age but she did only have it at bed time. Start by weaning her of day time use. When my dd was two I cut the nipple off and set it somewhere she would find it on her own. She soon found it and brought it to me saying “momma broken, fix it” and I told her it was too broken to fix and we would need to throw it away, she fussed over it for a few minutes and then decided to toss it in the trash and she never looked back lol
Ive read and heard that cutting the tip off helps. I have not done it yet but plan to soon. My SIL says dont give in because they will know they’ll get what they want . She told me it took a week for my nephew to get over it. He was off it before he turned 2. Lol Im hoping to do the same. Just recently took the bottle away so i dont wanna overwhelm her 😅

My son doesn’t have it all day. Only to sleep. Like he has to have it to sleep he cries for it he’s like paci paci I want paci and I have to give it to him right after his bath sometimes before cause he just breaks down :/ but I don’t give it to him all day. I’m thinking maybe when he turns 3 I’ll try to see how he does without it at night. Right After he turned 2 is when I stopped it during the day.
@missjess, lol mine too. When he gets tired he just lays on the couch to watch cartoons and asks me for the tete... but I know if I give it to him he will fall asleep and will give me a hard time at night. I tell him yes baby I’ll give to you just give me one sec... which I never do... and then he stays waiting for it quietly until he forgets about it 😂😂😂

@momofboth, I just say what I would like to be told in a hard moment like that one.. 1y and 4m is still too young to understand, but maybe after 2y you can tell her that the dog ate the paci... some story like that and she will not suffer as much as now. That’s just me maybe I’m wrong but I like to put my 2 cents of opinion, bc might help with it. Or I might not 😂
I know it sounds so taboo but trust me it will get easier I know it’s hell at first..
