Okay, can y’all please help me settle this debate with my husband. You’re supposed to wash your rice before you cook it, yes or no?
Yes you're supposed to but I dont haha
Omg. The handful of times I’ve made rice; I did it wrong ?! 😱😅🤣 I use bag rice, and just boil it ? 🤷🏻♀️🙈
It may depend on the type of rice. I’m honestly not sure. I only use basmati rice and I always rinse and soak it. That’s how I was taught so I never knew people just cook it straight. Lol
Yes! If I don’t soak it, I at least give it a rinse.
I don't never do. I didn't know you were supposed to.? If it rinses the starch off whsts the point of eating it since rice is all starch
It removes the surface starch so you don’t have like gummy rice. Try it, you’ll notice a difference
You’re supposed to yes. Sometimes i cheat and do not. It just rinses off any possible dust an coating of starch. Hence, why the water turns a hazy color
Lol I do that too 😂 but I swear, he looked at me like I had 10 heads when I asked him to wash the rice for me.
I've always just cooked it and boiled my kettle and rinsed it after with boiling water
