My poor baby has had such bad gas pain// ever since coming home from the hospital. She is formula fed and being a premie the NICU gave her DR Brown bottles and neosure with iron formula. When she was 3 weeks her pediatrician gave me a list of things to try..gripe water, massages, bicycle legs, warm baths, loving and cuddles and probiotics. I tried everything then finally the probiotics worked for 4 whole weeks and my LO was finally sleeping thru the night, loved her carseat/stroller rides, and was all around a different baby..she still had lots of gas but it was much more tollerable for her. Well recently i noticed the pains came back like 3 days ago, & Monday after a bath around 2pm was her last poop (noticing this tuesday morning)..she didnt poop for almost 24 hrs (atleast 20hrs) and her pediatrician said that i can go ahead and try giving her a few sips of baby gerber sugar free applejuice dilluted with water and nook it in the microwave if she goes past 24 hrs but wanted me to try a suppository first and then applejuice IF the suppository didnt work. Well i am scared to death with sticking anything up her butt at only 8 wks old and me being a FTM with no practice or experience. Well to say the least that little bit of apple juice helped her poop yesterday once.. then she slept great last night..no pain or strain but no poop either. Today the pain and strain came back about almost at 24 hrs of her pooping. Does anybody have any experience with their LO and constipation?

I think tonight ill have to give in with the rectal stimulation or suppository if i can get up to the store..any advice on how to do it lol She had a rough day and night today and has been in bad pain for about 6 hrs now and its mostly while or after shes eating. I also heard how hard neosure is on babys bellies and her peds said she's not worried about the formula because shed have a rash if she was allergic and yss she is gainig weight great and that was another reason why she didnt wanna switch her formula. So maybe i should just switch the formula on my own? She was 5 1/2 wks early and she was in the NICU for 3 wks because at first she couldnt breath on her own (only less then 24 hrs) and she couldnt eat good enough to be released for 3 wks. But she was at 5he peds once a wk checking on her weight and had gas ever since she got hom at 3 wks old and has had terrible bad gas pains since. But 3 wks ago (shes now 8wks) i put her on Mommys Bliss probiotics and she was so happuly and out od pain she was a completely different baby, then all of a sudden it came back and seems now its constipation tho instead of just the gas because she went from pooping a few times a day to just one since like weds and its painful it seems like to me.😢
@siobhanbonfitz2018 it's all the iron and dense nutrients that make it rough on their bellies. My kiddo was on it as a fortified to breastmilk for 10 months then another 6 months alone. It has its benefits. I think it's best to ask your ped if they still feel she needs the extra over a more gentle. If so, then it's just something you have to work through unfortunately.
Usually a little vaseline on the tip of a thermometer, just as if you were taking her temp. I like that way because theres markers on how far is ok on a rectal thermometer. You can always use a Qtip with vaseline and be sure to only use the tip.
My dr had me add prune juice to my babies bottles. I only did 1 bottle of it a day and got her on a good routine w it. 1/2 oz prune juice then 3 n 1/2 water for 4oz bottle than add her formula.
My sister used a q-tip with Vaseline on my niece when she was a 6 weeks old and she finally pooped so good she was back to being a happy baby !
Im just so nervous to stick anything up her bum but i think illnprob have to do that within the next few hrs. Of course i searched for vaseline tonight when i had like a 60mn sleep window where i was actually able to put her down when she was sleeping for awhile and we dont have any or lubericant so i have to go to the store when i can. But im too nervous to put her in her carseat right now ugh sucks trying to figure this out i hate feeling so helpless
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
baby is screaming like she is in pain fed her changed her n burped her.. she needed help with her poop she gas been constipated but she got some poop out and is still crying.. any ideas??? pls help

I need help . My baby is 9 months old she has had a constipation problem since she was a baby she can not poop she tries and tries pushes and pushes , I can see how much it hurts her I have taken her to the ER today but what they did to her didn't help she hasn't pooped since we came back and when she pooped there it was hard !
I want to take her again but she's not in pain unless she's trying to poop .
Is there a way I can register her to the hospital for them to see her ?

Please please all, I need your help!! My little one's poop is stuck in her anus. She is super constipated and hurting.😢😢 She strains so hard; her whole face turns red. But it seems too big to come out. I pulled piece out of her butt a couple days ago, but now she can't even get it pass the anus. I've done: Pure prune juice, apple juice, plain ole water, barely in her bottle, she has oats every morning. "bicycle legs", q-tip in the bottom.. omg my poor baby! As I was changing her diaper this morning I noticed she was trying to go poop. 😣 it was hard for her to go and my poor baby was pushing and crying and I could see the lil turd trying to come out,but it wasn't comming all the way out. She was trying and crying in so much pain! I held her legs and pushed on her tummy and tried to help. But I couldn't take her painful cries any more.😭 I wiped what I could away and had her stop. I didn't want to her to keep straining!😢😢 poor thin...
Neosure is really tough on their bellies. How early was baby? Is she still having weight gain issues?
Rectal stimulation or a glycerin suppository is actually far better for her than juice. Sugar free still has natural sugars or sometimes even artificial sugars. Babys gut is not ready for that.
