One year when i was still working (before kids) my husband and I both worked a shit ton of overtime. It knocked us into the next tax bracket and we owed $5k. I was like ok no more overtime, this shit sucks!!😫😫😫😫😫😫

Oh no! Hopefully you guys get lucky this year! It’s the worse having to pay when you worked so hard and sometimes overtime is needed to pay bills !

So does my dh. He always ends up owing. I’m a sahm and we are married so I don’t even know what happens with my taxes haha. He has an accountant who does his every year

I’m a sahm too and last year was the first time we hired someone to do it taxes. We had hope but ended up having to pay triple from the previous year because of the amount of money my husband made 🤦🏽♀️😭

I don’t understand how this works in the US but in the UK we hand over nearly half of our income (45%) as tax. It makes me physically sick to look at the pay checks. We don’t get any of it back.

Yea I hates seeing my pay stub every two weeks. The amount of taxes that were taken out made me sick to my stomach. Hopefully when I retire there’s still social security but who knows!!

When you fill out your w-4, you can change your number of exemptions to either over pay or underpay. Some people like less money taken out of their paychecks throughout the year so that they have more spending cash but end up owing taxes at the end of the year. I make sure me and my husband over pay by a lot so we get a huge refund lol

I make sure they take an extra 20% & we still owe ! We used to get money back, that was 7 years ago 😭
