I just really don’t understand how some ppl are ok with being broke. I haven’t, thankfully, been broke since I got my first job at 17. I’m NOT referring to those that have life happen to them. I’m talking about those that live outside their means on purpose, have everything name brand, no medical insurance and an empty savings and are ok asking others for help/money.

Yes! Live within your means. Hell live like you’re broke even if you got money. So if life does happen you’re ok!
And those are typically the ones who complain the most and use their kids for sympathy. I understand families falling on hard times and working hard to put food on the table. I commend those people. But the people who talk about how they can’t provide for their kids and cry for help, but then walk around like they have damn sure provided for themselves just fine 🤦🏼♀️ name brand this, new car that.... I don’t care if you want to argue someone gifted you that crap...sell it!
Because it's their life.? You don't have to get it. If that's how they care comfortable living fuck it. Does it effect you.? No.? Then it's not your business to worry about or try to understand. 🤷🤦
When they are asking me for money, it affects me. When they abuse my mom’s money and her time because she can’t say no, it affects me. When my family is affected because they are making poor decision, it affects me. So yea, it’s my business. I couldn’t give two fucks about a stranger’s habits but when it affects MY family I WILL have an opinion on how stupid your decisions are.

I have kids who come to school with zero school supplies wearing Jordans and other name brand clothing. 🤦♀️ Obviously, it’s not the kids fault, but that to me is completely inappropriate.... Unfortunately, those are the type of values they will instill in their children.
SAME. It infuriates me when they have name brand everything and the newest iPhone, but they don’t have any pencils or notebooks and are on free lunch.
It’s this type of mentality that keeps people living their whole lives in poverty and has them passing that mindset on to their kids. Generational poverty is a huge problem in our country due to the fact that much of the time people are perfectly content living that way.
Yes! Generational poverty is real. That’s why I say they should offer some type of financial/budgeting classes before kids graduate high school so they can make better decisions before they fall into debt and never break the poverty cycle.
@mojobebe, They should! A lot do but a lot don’t. Unfortunately, something I’ve learned over the years is that in most cases schools can not overcome what parents and families are unwilling to do/teach/model for their kids themselves.
@itswhitnibitch @massmomma16 please tell me where she specified they were asking HER for money. In that case it does involve her. I thought she was talking about a random person cause in that case it wouldn't be her business.
I don't understand it either i'm not rich but I try to make more and don't spend outside my means or ask for money
