At home we only speak arabic to my son because once he goes to school hes gonna learn english right away. He also learned english from youtube so whenever he tells me something in English i tell him i don’t understand what your saying and he then tells me it in arabic.

I only speak Spanish to my daughter and encourage my family to do so as well. Not everyone complies though so she gets both languages. I lost track of how many words she knows but they’re all Spanish with the exception of grandma, grandpa, hot and hat lol

We speak both at home. He has relatives who only speak Spanish. He understands Spanish and English however his speech isn't quite there yet. He can only say a few words so far in english...but he responds well to both languages.

@atyaf01, @flamingomom, @bluepenguin, thanks ladies it’s really important to me that my daughter learns both English and Spanish even though it’ll be a while before she can talk

As long as you don’t neglect the Spanish, she’ll get it. English is less of a concern since she’ll be immersed practically everywhere. I started with my daughter since she was a baby. I would buy her baby toys in Spanish too.

@flamingomom, thank you so much I didn’t even think to buy her toys in Spanish that’s a good idea
