My best friend doesn’t have kids, doesn’t want kids and isn’t great with kids. She’s getting all butt hurt cause I told her I’m not going to have a lot of energy or time to talk or hang out with her after the babies born. At least not for a month or so.. She just doesn’t understand what it’s like to have a newborn or a baby in general. I’ve been so annoyed with her lately cause she keeps trying to plan stuff for right after the baby is born.. I’m like girl, I’m prob going to be so tired that I don’t even know who you are lol.. I don’t know how to get her to understand

Stop wasting your breath explaining it to her. Let her plan things and just don’t show up. You’ve tried to explain that you are going to be tired and unavailable, but she refuses to understand that, so show her better than you can tell her.

Pretty much what I’m going to have to do.. Love her to death but my goodness.. she’s stressing me out.. I don’t want to hurt her feelings but if she’s not going to listen then the hard way it is🤷🏻♀️

My best friend tried doing that as well. Eventually I stopped answering her calls. And now a year later. She waits for me to make plans with her

I’m thinking that’s how it’s going to go.. I lost my best friend when I had my daughter cause she didn’t understand why I couldn’t hang out or call her all the time so I’m nervous it’ll happen again but if it does I at least kno this time around that you can make new friends.

the best thing I’ve learned from having a kid is that if your friends leave your life they weren’t your real friends

Unfortunately I lost "friends" after my son was born, my life was different but they wanted me to be the same. I couldn't go out for drinks late... I was tired, and I had a little baby to look out for.

Completely same here! Was a real eye opener who my real friends were. A couple that stuck around and helped me out are now some of my best friends and I really needed that. Met new ppl along the way. And now those who ditched me are starting families and will prob realize soon how that feels.
