Gabbys bellybutton is starting to bleed. What should I do? Is this serious? She’s not in pain. Doesn’t cry when I wipe it.

Try to avoid using alcohol. Dries the skin out and can prevent quick healing. Wash with soap and warm water, pat dry and let it heal on it's own. watch for signs of infection

@vvrobinson, I feel like Gabby’s pediatrician shouldn’t have pulled it off. It never fell off by itself. It was hanging getting ready to fall off. But when she had her appointment, her pedi pulled it off and cauterized it the first time. Since then, I’ve been having problems.

@gummybear728 thats strange. Most pediatricians say to leave it and let it come off on its own

@vvrobinson, exactly. That’s what my older daughters old pediatrician said. Hers fell off and I found it in her sleeper by her feet lol and I’ve never had issues with her belly button

Called the pedi. She said as long and it’s not bleeding a lot that it will stop on it’s own. I guess if it guess worse I need to go to the ER so they can cauterize it again.

I would call pedi just to be safe. Is it hot to touch at all?

Pat dry and leave it be.

Call pedi of you're concerned.
