Very pissed with my doctors office right now. I’ve had an abnormally high platelet count for a little over 6 years now and no doctor has looked into this. I didn’t know it has gone on for this long until an advice nurse told me when I called about something else. He ordered me another blood count for 4 weeks after my gallbladder surgery (which is today) to see if it would go down (which it didn’t) and he said if it doesn’t then I need to be seen. I scheduled a follow-up appointment and got a call from the doctor saying that I basically don’t need to worry about this because it’s been “level” at a high count. Like wtf?!!! That’s still not a good thing. I have cancer running through my family like crazy and this is a worry for me especially because high platelet count is the first sign!!! I’m so frickin pissed! Even if it’s not cancer then it’s something else. High platelet count is NOT normal! Grrrr!!! Sorry just needed to vent!
