Ladies. Do you support the death penalty or for the one being sentence to stay the rest of their lives behind Bars?

This is a tough question for me. On one hand yes I believe in the death penalty. Like @rndmshtt, mentioned in cases of mass killings yes they should be put to death. If all the evidence is 1000% accurate. In most mass shootings the people doing the shooting is known. Otherwise I’m not so sure. I know there are many many people wrongfully accused and sitting in prison right now. So the death penalty is a tough call for me!! Everyone brings up great points

I wish I could get the death penalty for my ex husband for stealing my daughters innocence!!! Sick fuck did it for 2 years before she finally had the courage to tell me! So yes I absolutely support it!! He’s still sitting in county jail almost a year later still not sentenced even though the dumbass admitted he did it! 😡😡

Personally, i don’t believe we have the right to judge whose life is taken regardless who and how many lives that person being accused of killing. But i do strongly believe keeping that person away for the rest of their life away from society is punishment enough. Maybe even keep them away from other prisoners. Give them the medical care, and provide food but that is it. &’ What happens to them after death is out of our hands. If they have taken a life, i don’t think they should be released at all. That person’s life continues as the years go on. But the one they’ve killed and the families and friends who lost that person will grieve their loss for the rest of their lives.

In some cases if the crime is gruesome or cruel enough (which is pretty rare), I’m in favor of the death penalty. Like when someone harms a baby or child, an entire family, or a very large group of people. It just doesn’t seem logical or fair to keep that person alive in a prison where their needs are being paid for throughout the rest of their life. I do understand that being in prison for that long is a punishment in itself, however some criminals/sociopaths are so mentally ill that they thrive in an environment like that. It should vary from case to case but all in all I don’t think it should be off the table entirely. Some people are capable of such evil; it sickens me that they’re still given a chance at life that they’d steal from another if given the chance.

I don’t believe in the death penalty. I don’t think the government should be able to put someone to death. I also know people have been wrongfully executed and knowing that’s a possibility, no matter how slim, it’s a no go for me. However, I do think life in prison without the possibility of parole is an acceptable punishment in some cases. There are some people who are just too dangerous to society.
