My Esther Rae Winyan is 7lbs and 4oz. I'm just so dead inside, I want to continue breastfeeding her and their telling me shes not gaining enough. Why does this always happen to me, she is 7lbs and 4oz today and is half an inch taller. I just want to breastfeed fully. Why cant I? How could I make that happen?
Don’t beat yourself up about it her being fed and healthy is the only thing that matters
Also I’d suggest consuming things with healthy fats like walnuts and avocado. Any nuts really. You may not have enough fat in your milk.
Well on top of breastfeeding I'm allergic to wheat and milk. But I love nuts and thankfully guacamole. So ill get some of that on hand. And I've tried to hand express, I just feel like Esther gets more when she nurses.
Okay, where do I get the ingredients to make it? And what are steel cut oats?
Steel cut oats is just coarser oatmeal. You can find it in any grocery store!
This is the recipe my friend and I used when we made lactation cookies when our girls were infants: ссылка
My son wasn’t gaining enough weight as well and I still exclusively breastfeed now. I watched my diet carefully every morning I have oatmeal with flaxseeds and a lactation shake (I don’t remember the name right now but I can definitely get you it if you’re interested) during the day my snacks are lactation cookies, fig bars, and fruit also PLENTY of water. I eat meals at least 3 times a day. My son eats every 2 hours but about halfway in between those hours I pump just to help produce more milk. In the beginning it was very difficult but now I’ve gotten so use to it. I’ve been through that and my son now is 18lbs he’s big and healthy he was a preemie so it took a lot of hard work to get him to where he is but don’t stress it lowers milk production.
