My husband was in a combat zone during his deployment. He was on base and they couldn’t leave the entire. It was pretty safe I wasn’t too worried. It’s not always like that but it’s all different circumstances.
I was in the army deployed the 4 months after getting to fort Bragg. I know someone that was in 6 years before he deployed. Being deployed isn’t a bad thing. It’s hard but it’s what comes with being in the military. Don’t think if he goes or if he picks a specific job that he won’t go. The unit I was in had no use in Iraq. They changed everyone’s job so they could be part of it.

What is he wanting to do? Some jobs have no deployments at all unless they ask to volunteer for a deployment.
Depends. It can anything from 6 months -2 years.
@aprila10818, it depends on the asvab score. That determines the job. Then he can make a list. They need aircraft mechanics so if that’s what he wants he should be able to get it.
@aprila10818, idk the exact one but you can look online and it can give you different scores for all the jobs.
@aprila10818, it would depend on the base. They all have different requirements. I’ve seen pits on base but didn’t now the circumstances.
@aprila10818, a pit might fall under the breed restriction depending on the base he is stationed at just like a breed restriction can apply in civilian housing.
@aprila10818 if your dog is actually an emotional support animal, they can't not allow him because of his breed as long as you have the paperwork from your Dr.
He’s considered a crew chief. He was at Travis afb in California for 9 years. He was in turkey for 1 year and now we’re in Dover Delaware for 3 years.
What’s the job title. And where are you guys stationed at.

@aprila10818, it’s not always a guarantee. It can depend on your job and base. My husband didn’t get deployed until recently and he’s been in for 10 years.

I think the only thing that makes me worry is how long he will be gone and if everything is going to be okay. We just had our first kid and I’m just scared of something happening
