I have 3 children, work fulltime AND have government assistance. If these jobs would start paying us more we wouldn't have to look to the government for help. Until my pay increases I will gladly swipe my EBT card for food.
Edit: If I choose to have another baby (which I'm not) that's my business and NOBODY can make me feel bad for that choice. Having a child and being dirt poor/homeless is totally different than having a child and utilizing the assistance that is offered to everyone who qualifies✌💅 #NoshameSunday 😘

I don't work at the moment but I do get government assistance . But I finished HS, start CNA training soon and once I complete the classes, they will help me get a job either working in a hospital or taking care of people at home.. And then college in the fall🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ So just like you, I will gladly continue swiping my EBT card. I'm not working but still doing something for myself instead of being lazy at home.

of course! And trust me, I don't want to be on government assistance especially receiving cash but I have to do what I have to do for me and my kids.

Yes! Those who abuse the system give a bad name to those who need assistance. Working full time we should be able to earn a livable wage. I’m not asking for enough to vacation, just enough to make ends meet without working 60-80 hours a week.

Exactly! Where I live everyone assumes that the women who get assistance are just at home doing nothing and CHOOSING not to help themselves which couldn't be further from the truth.

Amen! I have 2 kids, have WIC AND EBT and I'm proud of it because I can feed my kids with out struggling and take care of their other needs with the money I do have. I get child support for one child which goes towards some bills and of course the needs of that child and my boyfriend works full time and his money goes towards most bills and whatever he has left over goes towards the baby's needs. I'm currently not working and staying home with my kids but have been looking for work and planning on working again the beginning of the year. Even then, we will still need assistance for food and when you have EBT you're automatically approved for WIC, I'm not ashamed at all and you know what? Just like to you said, if I want to have another baby any time soon I will TTC and it will be no ones business but mine and my boyfriend's.

I personally feel like if you are purposely planning a child with no plan to save money for them and knowingly not want to get married because you guys make too much and you want to get state when you get pregnant. Then that's immaturity. Abusing the system sucks no matter what. And yes I was one of those who did this (never got ebt or cash assistance) but once I matured I said fuck it I don't want to depend on state for insurance. I am still on it because we are not eligible for our jobs insurance but when we are we will be getting off state insurance.

@jaygirlsmommy what exactly is wrong abt it tho? Again, I dnt NEED it. If I had it taken away, I could still maintain .. But it helps. Personally I wouldn't have a baby right now, but not because I use foodstamps .. Simply because I am choosing not to lol.

because if alot of people like to cheat the system like not get married knowing they can afford it. If you can afford it then why be on State juicing the system. Like someone at work. She rather not save the money for baby items knowing she can but instead talks about getting state food stamps and insurance when she ends up pregnant.

@jaygirlsmommy well not getting married to stay on state assistance is a little crazy lol. But for me, I use it to help me since I qualify. One day, I won't qualify and that's when I'll stop using it. I work fulltime so my taxes go towards it as well.
