Anyone had an ECV?
My baby is currently breech I will no at my next appt if I have to have one of these. Anyone got any advice for them? Are they painful? Should I take pain killers before I go if I need one?

Mine is Breech, if he’s still Breech by 36 wks they want to turn him their self but I don’t think I’m going to let them do this, the reason they do it is so we can aim for a vaginal delivery and avoid a section, but there are some risks of baby being turned, and there is a chance of ECV ending in an emergency section anyway because baby could become distressed. This is what I have been reading up on since they told me, and also have spoken to some mums who have been in same situation and gone against it as baby has turned itself by 38wks. They don’t always turn so it’s your choice, but i think they give you a relaxant Thant doesn’t effect baby, and apparently its more uncomfortable than painful. They want to induce me at 37 wks as there are problems with the placenta, so I am hoping he has turned when I go to my 36wk appointment 😣 xx
