What do you guys think about circumcision? & if you have boys, are they circumcized?
I’m totally 100% against it unless there’s a valid medical reason. The thought of it being done to helpless babies purely for vanity reasons makes me mad to be honest.
Having said that, I am under the impression that the doctors in the US make money from it so will be more than happy to provide/ recommend the procedure when it isn’t necessary. It isn’t standard practice here in the UK and I have never heard of it causing any issues. My son obviously isn’t circumcised and although I have a medical history of recurrent water infections due to duplex kidneys he has never had any issues and I doubt he ever will.
Don’t agree with it unless medically necessary. If it wasn’t supposed to be there they wouldn’t be born with it. It’s made like that. It’s supposed to be like that. I’ve 3 sons, other half, brother, 9 nephews all intact and no problems. It’s not acceptable to cut a peice of vagina off so why a penis 😐
I dont agree with you that not doing anytjing is the norm. Our statistics dont support that.
As a nurse I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s totally painful and completely unnecessary. Both my husband and son are intact and never have problems.
I circumcised my boy. I regret nothing I thought it was the right choice.
I would never circumcise my children. My husband is not circumcised and he has never had any embarrassment from it. I’ve heard sex is more enjoyable. Also, I could never have my child go through that pain for no reason. Please be confident in your decision!
I’m having a son in 4 weeks and he will be circumcised. This may be vain but uncircumcised penises, in my opinion, are unattractive. His father says he should be and I agree. To each their own.
I love my husband and his normal penis, that is why am not making the decision about my sons penis because you never know what his future wife will want
1) no one should have their bodies altered without their consent. Point blank period.
2) it’s been proven to be excruciatingly painful, even with the “local anesthetic” provided.
3) all of the myths about circumcised penises being “easier to clean” and “having less chances of getting stds” have been debunked.
If men weren’t supposed to HAVE a foreskin, they’d be born without it.
I have 2 boys and they are both circumcised. Having known men who are NOT circumcised - they’ve stated that they were either teased, broken up with, etc due to the simple fact of them not being circumcised. I decided to do it for my sons after researching it and finding out it’s much easier to keep clean (from STD’s and STI’s especially when they’re older).
Since I live in America, I will circumsize my son if/when I have one. Because it is a harsh surgery, I will do it when he's young and can't process the pain as much. I'd hate to feel regret that I didn't if he grows up and is bullied and/or wants to be circumsized.
I've never met someone who is circumsized that wishes they were not.
@nurseflowforlife, others were saying that in some countries it is banned or cost much more money to get. In the US it is more accepted and is a "norm"
@rese, Not really, since 2010 circumcision has dropped hugely, there’s even documentaries about it on Netflix. Even the CDC has reported that circumcision is on a huge decline. Also it is definitely not the norm, circumcision started in the 40s for non-religious reasons. So it’s more of a trend that is now finally ran its course and ending
@nurseflowforlife, I wholeheartedly respect that you have a great deal of admiration for your husband and son and this topic. Your perspective and opinion is in full support of your lifestyle. We must agree to disagree on this because I have the opposing viewpoint of not being circumcised being a trend and being circumcised being the norm. It having to be "debunked" and "being on the decline" only supports that. The bottom line is to each their own. The OP asked for opinion and there are and will be multiple for which they can read, interpret, and utilize in their acceptance as fact and ultimately their decision making process.
Both of my boys will be circumcised. I do not have a penis so I defer to their father. The only uncircumcised man I know told me that it was a life long embarrassment for him. I dont want to put my sons through that. I'm aware that circumcisiom is no longer considered necessary and its now more of an aesthetic thing.
Even still ds3 had it done and he didn't even cry and was just fine. It heals quickly and you move on. Forgoing circumcision has become a fad, like not vaccinating children, and not drinking cows milk.
People just follow the heard. I'm all for making an informed decision but I think its RIDICULOUS the number of people that I know just do it because everyone else is.
Actually not circumcision is what generations have done for years all over the world. Circumcision was the trend. Which is why most of us have grandfathers who aren’t circumcise. Just correcting you on that. Circumcision is the trend, not doing anything to your children genitals is the norm
I think that discussing penises should be left to the parents only. Why do people think it's ok to discuss the genitals of one's child?
Okay, so you don’t really want other opinions, just validation for your choice. You can ask for that, and that is okay momma. Just don’t make a post that seems like you want other perspectives.
@lalalissy, in your previous comment you seem pretty confident in your decision, so roll with that momma. I was just wondering why you would post something like this, unless the intent is to stir up debate.

@mhbb3, And I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy hates it because he has been misinformed about it. My husband is very educated so he knows all about his penis and how it works, why foreskin is there and why his frenulum is important. stuff like that. Education is key, and my son is being raised to be confident and proud of his body
@nurseflowforlife
He was my ex husband and he hated it bc he was ridiculed his whole life. Its not the norm here. Im not going to do that to my sons. Its great that you know lots of intact men who are happy about it but its not like that here.
People are becoming more aware about circumcision and that most of the time it's nit necessary but its still not the norm.
I'd love to meet these tons of women you know
